recognition of Syria opposition

does this now mean that France, Britain, Gulf states & US recognising the opposition that the Syrian government isn't the actual Legal government in western + allies eyes and does this now make the Libya situation more legally viable and more of a chance of direct intervention in the situation a stronger possibility ?

I'm just asking a question so please no petty arguments as I wish to understand more on the subject.......
