What doctors wont tell you about effexor (anti-depressant)
Was only taking this med for about 4 -5 weeks at a low dose of 75 mg or so. Trying to come off of it was perhaps the most physically painful experience i can remember having for a long time. The most scary part was that at times i thought i was having a heart attack (massive chest pain, shortness of breath, almost fainting). Probably got a total 7 hours sleep over 3 nights, with the first night getting no sleep. After reading about it, it seems a lot of people just stay on this drug to avoid the horrible withdrawal symptoms. I ended up taking one of the effxor pills again and the symptoms went away. I contemplated coming of the med very slowly but i in the end came of it in about a week. A lot of people take 4 months or so to come off this drug.

I had brain flashes--like lightening.

I will never take another anti-depressant again.

Yes, slow to get off is the best way.

Funny how the stats say it is a fraction of a percent highter/successful than a plecebo.

What a medical sham.
