The military contractors would lose millions if the budget is not done in time to stop the cuts. The proposed cuts are much deeper, but they don't hurt the military contractors at all. So who benifits form this deal? The politicians! Lets all write Washington and tell them "let it happen". I doubt any of them care what we think, but it's worth a try. Another thing to consider is that these cuts will happen, and promises are cheap. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe |

Patty Murray, D-Wash., and other Democrats have said their party's leaders should seriously consider letting the Jan. 1 deadline pass and then negotiate with Republicans under sharply different circumstances." So, other words, they want to hold the country hostage, bring it to its knees, break fingers on a mass scale, to force their way. "Murray's allies say voters would blame Republicans for refusing to yield" Yet, it is they who would be refusing to yield. "House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., showed no interest in challenging the fiscal cliff. "I want you to be disabused of any notion that there is any widespread thought that it would be a good thing, for our country, for us to go over the cliff," she told reporters Tuesday." Hmm. |

The Pew Fiscal Analysis has looked at the budget numbers. I don't know what bullshit Rush Limbaugh has been telling you. Between 2001 and 2011, about two-thirds (68 percent) of the $12.7 trillion growth in federal debt has been due to new legislation. Forty percent of this legislative growth was the result of tax cuts enacted after January 2001, and 60 percent resulted from spending increases. [link to m.washingtonpost.com] |

[link to m.washingtonpost.com] As I said, you are a fucking idiot. First of all you blame the wars and Bush's tax cuts on 40% of the debt THEN you show an article that includes spending increases/tax cuts enacted all the way through Obama's term in 2011! Do you get it now you fucking retard? And again, stupid shit like that from biased morons like Ezra Klein doesn't show you the hard numbers. Look at the actual tax revenues following Bush's 2003 tax cuts - revenues went UP every year until the housing bubble crash. So explain how rising tax revenues increases the debt you idiot. Again - look at the numbers: [link to www.taxpolicycenter.org] Notice spending goes UP by 500 billion when Obama takes office and revenues decrease 400 billion from the housing bubble crash. This is why I hate democrats. You people are so fucking ignorant and stupid it hurts. |
