Spaceweather.com is saying we are flying through a cme that just passed... I don't know. We are not getting HIT with cme. Enlil does not really support that as well. Neutrons are up slightly, so ena ribbon? But the chart above also shows cosmic ray density dropped sharply. I would check the gamma ray site, but it uses silverlight, and will not load on my system. [link to grb.sonoma.edu] the onlt thing blinking on that site is this: GRB2012118A G C's: LONG 11.37deg LAT 156.84 constellation: AURIGA And here is the summery: This event was a 15 seconds long and exhibited a double peak of emission. However, it did *not* give off any very high-energy photons (what are called "hard" X-rays or "soft" gamma rays), and so this is being characterized as an "X-Ray Flash" (XRF) and not a gamma-ray burst. An XRF is an event similar to a gamma-ray burst but with much lower energy. Scientists are not sure if XRFs are the same as gamma-ray bursts but seen at an oblique angle, or if they are an entirely different phenomenon. Swift observed an XRF earlier in the year, in April 2005 (GRB 050406A). Swift has slewed to observe GRB 050522A, and detected a weak X-ray source, but it has not yet been determined if it is fading, as an XRF would be expected to do. There was no optical detection using the Ultraviolet/Optical Telescope. I have a question about this site. About where are we located on that globe?? I'm not sure. I thought that globe was the earth??? That seems right I suppose. They really need to set that site up a bit better I think. Thank you for the reply. :) |

| Sammi7 User ID: 27396305 United States11/14/2012 07:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i dont know what it was last night here in sc.. but when i came outside at about 11pm last night there was a wierd light behind all the clouds.. it was dark behind the houses across the pond like a normal night, but above that was an illuminated cloud which would be normal if there were few clouds in the sky but we have been completely covered since yesterday afternoon.. and then to the right of that "light" the clouds were a hazy orange color.. im no professional but it was crazy wierd!
