Vaccines have NEVER stopped any disease. In fact, there's as much evidence for rock and roll beginning in the 50's, being the cause of the "end" of most childhood diseases - as there is for vaccines having caused the end.

I get the whole anti vaccine hype. I'm on board.
What about eradication of smallpox and polio?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26828773

When the small pox vaccine was mandated in England, the deaths from small pox actually went up.

Polio has not been eradicated, the requirements for being diagnosed with Polio has been changed. You have to have some sort of paralysis for 36 days in order to be diagnosed with Polio, otherwise you are diagnosed with aseptic meningitis.
 Quoting: mopar28m

One school of thought is They have also changed the name to things like MS and Fibromyalgia as well as several others, symptoms are very similar to polio.

MS and Polio aren't very similar at all. The only similarity is they're both neurological diseases. Also, MS dosen't have "epidemics" like Polio does.

People in my office were offered free flu vaccines one year. A few weeks later, 3 people had the flu. Those 3 were among the ones who were vaccinated.

That's pretty strong evidence that it doesn't even fucking work, let alone the larger side of the argument about the broader detrimental health aspects.

Pretty compelling testimonial right here and there are thousands more out there serving as microcosms. The sheeple never seem to get it though.

You don't need a doctor to tell you when you have the flu. We're not talking about the sniffles or a little bit of a cough, IT'S THE FLU. Most people are bed ridden by it, and even if you did soldier on and came to work, everyone would be able to see you're fucked up and would send you home.

But hey, why would they come down with the symptoms? They got the magic cure, didn't they?

Try logic, please. It feels great. I want you to feel great too.

A vaccine isn't a magic cure. You can still get the flu even if you take it, especially if you were infected before you took it. Again, people who get the vaccine are more likely to be in high exposure areas.

For example, most hospital workers are required to get flu shots, for obvious reasons.

Because it greatly reduces your chance of getting it. Because vaccines do work (And you can find plenty of double blind studies that prove it)

But just like heart medication won't always work in curing a heart diseases, vaccines won't always work either.

from abused memory: there are 2 forms of white blood cells

a:Lymphocytes
b:Phagocytes

the later being the one that finds and destroys foreign bodies within our system... we have pre-legacy cells that 'inform' our bodies what to make and how to make them... kinda like a weapon.

the proposition of vaccine is to get a 'watered down' version introduced so that these cells are readily available... and prepared.... the down stroke is that until human trials, how little or much is the question...

i still hate the idea of being poisoned to be cured....

AC, the fact that vaccines have not been proven to be efficacious whatsoever is a travesty considering how they have become compulsory in shool children as well as in some professions. But let's leave that alone for a minute. When you look at the package insert you may see things like:
formaldehyde, bovine extract, aluminum hydroxide, polysorbate 80, themerosal, Vero (monkey kidney) cells, calf serum, formalin, yeat protein (MSG), soy peptone, EDTA, and countless others.

Question: should one not be concerned about all these chemicals being injected directly into his/her body? Many of these chemicals are highly toxic all by themselves, and this was the short list.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be a little concerned. Healthy skepticism is a good thing, by all means.

But in general the doses of these are so far below the amount it would take for it to be dangerous I'm not too concerned. Almost anything is toxic in high enough doses.

I'm not an EXPERT on Immunology, so I'm not going to tell you with 100% certainty you're right or wrong. But this topic was presented with questions the OP suggested would stump anyone pro-vaccine, but it was relatively easy to find studies for the things she was asking.

...Recent estimates from CDC's Autism Developmental Disabilities Monitoring network found that about 1 in 88 children have ASD. This estimate is higher than estimates from the early 1990s. Over the years, some people have had concerns that autism might be linked to the vaccines children receive. SSDD

I can copy/paste too:
[link to www.sciencebasedmedicine.org]

"1. Could you please provide one double-blind, placebo-controlled study that can prove the safety and effectiveness of vaccines?

One trial? It took me 55 seconds to find ”Efficacy of 23-valent pneumococcal vaccine in preventing pneumonia and improving survival in nursing home residents: double blind, randomised and placebo controlled trial” and that included time to boot the browser and mis-spell the search terms. ’Vaccine’, ‘efficacy’, ’randomized’ and ’placebo control trial’ results in 416 Pubmed references; add ‘safety’ to the search terms, you get 126 returns. 416 is easily more than one. Of course, to find them you have to look.

Of course, I am a highly educated adult who constantly searches the web for medical information. For hoots and giggles, I asked my 12 year old son, whose passions are basketball and filming comedy videos, to find me a reference that met the same criteria and I timed him.

Twenty two seconds, not including boot time, ..."

Very good article dealing with the anti-life, anti-vaccine propaganda in the OP article.

Now tell me how smallpox and polio were eliminated through better hygiene. I could use the laugh.

Oh, and polio is just relabeled nowadays. That's the latest looney conspiracy theory, right?
<sarcasm/>
I really believe that one because I see whole hospital wards today full of paralysed kids, just like in the 1950s.
They are in their iron lungs suffering from (fill in the anti-life fantasy disease here) which the sneaky and evyil moustache-twirling pharma-docs have renamed polio.
</sarcasm>
In a pig's eye I see anything like that or what was seen in the 1950s.

Do you maniacs even believe in the germ theory of disease, or do you deny that too?

Let me guess, if we were all to just pray we wouldn't be sick, we'd be really healthy just like our ancestors were 2000 years ago. In fact, if we gave up modern medicine we could improve our pathetic 80+ year life expectancy to the wonderful life expectancy from 2000 years ago.
What was that again?

I suggest readers not get their medical info from internet conspiracy wackos with no education... unless you have a death wish.

You can ban/delete me again for bringing some fact and sense to your medically dangerous ravings.
I'm getting used to it.

AC723 - Just for you from the CDC themselves.

...Recent estimates from CDC's Autism Developmental Disabilities Monitoring network found that about 1 in 88 children have ASD. This estimate is higher than estimates from the early 1990s. Over the years, some people have had concerns that autism might be linked to the vaccines children receive. One vaccine ingredient that has been studied specifically is thimerosal, previously used as a preservative in many recommended childhood vaccines...

BY THEIR OWN WORDS THEY HAVE ONLY TESTED ONE INGREDIENT FOR A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF AUTISM!!!

However since you are obviously a stooge, a sheep I'm sure you can justify this in a way that only makes sense to you.

* * In the interest of fairplay I will advise you that my daughter received vaccine-induced-autism 13yrs ago.

A lack of studies is not proof, and there is no evidence directly linking autism to vaccines. As many people have pointed out, you could make just as strong an argument that clean water and sanitation caused the rise in Autism.

I am sorry that you have to deal with this illness. I'm not going to pretend I can understand what you're going through, but that's not a reason to blame something.

that's because out of all of these things listed by another use:
formaldehyde, bovine extract, aluminum hydroxide, polysorbate 80, themerosal, Vero (monkey kidney) cells, calf serum, formalin, yeat protein (MSG), soy peptone, EDTA, and countless others.

most have been long used in the laboratory and previously tested and known to not be harmful in minute doses.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2497414

Many things are harmful in minute doses and consider their effect on the human body (especially with a child/infant body mass)--not to mention the coctail effect. Question AC: why are all these ingredients placed in an already nefarious potion known as a vaccine? Google: SV 40 and see what you find.

Quoting Dr. Tenpenny in interview I posted above: "If vaccines were so good and they were so protective and effective, why do they have to to pass laws to get you to take them"?

<sarcasm/>
I really believe that one because I see whole hospital wards today full of paralysed kids, just like in the 1950s.
They are in their iron lungs suffering from (fill in the anti-life fantasy disease here) which the sneaky and evyil moustache-twirling pharma-docs have renamed polio.
</sarcasm>

I've been here for a long time and seen quite a few old-timers pass away.

They usually don't come and ask for med advice once they are diagnosed with a real disease.
They seem to take their mainstream medications and therapies.
They may come on and ask for advise for supplemental woowoo treatments they can try, but they usually do not reject the mainstream treatments when their lives are on the line.

I don't blame them.
You get breast cancer. What are you going to do?
Start waving crystals around and take handfuls of supplements and coffee enemas or have the mainstream treatments which provide a damn good survival rate if you caught it early enough?

Pretty obvious selection.

If smallpox and polio were still around at the old pre-vaccine rates they'd be plenty scared of those diseases too.

I'd like to see them go to Nigeria or Pakistan unvaccinated and work with polio victims. I don't think they'd be willing to do that.

Re: 9 Questions That Stump Every Pro-Vaccine Advocate and Their Claims
people should be a lot more worried about what's contamining our water supply:

estrogen hormone leaking into waterbed from birth control meds but a bigger problem is the environmental estrogens- man-made chemicals that are estrogen-analogs, many of which are compounds found in plastics like BPA (bisphenol A).

Why?

-It's making girls reach sexual maturity earlier and earlier- average age of menarche (first menstruation) has decreased by around 4 years in the last 100 years (same with average age of thelarche- when breast start to grow): [link to www.mum.org]

-there is an increased risk of developing breast cancer the earlier a girl reaches menarche (because her body is producing estrogen for a longer period of time).

-estrogens in the water are emasculating boys. young boys are exposed to estrogens, which affects their mental and physical development.
[link to puberty101.blogspot.com]

-estrogens in the water supply can be linked to rise in obesity rates.

-estrogens in the water supply can be linked to increased risks of cancer.

I totally concur. "fluoride" is just a catchall for several toxins introduced to our water supply, many of which originate from China. DO NOT DRINK MUNICIPAL WATER FOLKS! Find an alternative source for drinking, cooking (rinsing veggies, fruits, etc.). It's bad enough we bathe in city water (most of us), but don't ingest it AT ALL. I have done hundreds of hours of research to support my recommendations.

These chemicals are also found in bottled water- especially the environmental estrogens that leak off plastic (NEVER drink water from a bottle that's been in the hot sun, like the pallets of water bottle they put outside of some supermarkets!!)

Water filters like brita or the one in your fridge are not very good and will not get rid of most chemicals.

Good filters will get rid of chemicals like environmental estrogens but the only way to completely get rid of all contaminants is reverse osmosis (to the best of my knowledge), but an adequate set-up is not feasible for most people.

At the very least, you should buy bpa-free water bottles for you and your family.
