Seeing as I have a second home and business in South America, I'm this bothered: You just don't seem to know how quickly that can all change. You should be thankful for what you have and not throw it in other peoples faces. Not trying to. This is confrontational constructive criticism and I hope to motivate the lad with a combination of anger and shame. Seriously, I freelance, from home and I make good money. I could easily resettle in Portugal and do exactly the same thing. Why can't he? You should know that i have a superior university degree and i earn 400 euros a month so if you have a secret potion what can i do??? and there is a lot of young people here in the same situation!!!! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27750536 You see, once the Euro would be history and the EU members were returning to their own currency, then German, British, American and Chinese investors would buy up your countries for pennies. That's what your new currencies will be worth, thus your country. With each strike you prove that your new currencies are worth less and less. The cheaper you could be bought up later. Here in Germany a lot of people work for 7, sometimes less than 5 Euros an hour - before taxes and baring the high German costs of living! We have to work until 67 and we only get full pension when we have worked fulltime for 40 years... which rarely is the case. A lot of us die working. We build (arguably) the best cars in the world, the best machinery, we go to work everyday, rain or shine. But if you show us you are not worth the effort, you will not be supported by us anymore, but you will be a competitor. Are you ready for this? You won't win that competition by striking and demanding more than you deserve. hihi typical german talking. arbeit macht frei! but i kinda agree with you... the thing is i dont agree with the system. es ist einfach nur traurig |

Getitng yourself arrested or injured in political protests isnt going to do any good at all, especially when the bastards behind closed doors are laughing at us all. Ignore the bastards, pretend they dont exist and they suddenly become less , much less important than they need to be. |

Ask any Egyptian if Egypt changed much post-Mubarrak. As simplistic as this advice is, it works: Look after number 1 and your family, tend to your own home like a castle and keep and fortify your family in whatever ways you can...next thing you know everyone's doing the same thing and if even your single street changes for the better, then that's something you did without the assistance of the state. Lots of people having problems and protesting mate, give it a rest. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27667491 why dont you address the REAL reason people are protesting? see the news this evening? they were burning the EU flag. THAT is the cause of the madness coz theyre not ALL lazy are they? or are they? you seem to think so is it ok that democracy is dead here? what about TPTB wanting a collective pay raise when everyone else has to buckle down again? do you believe that greece will ever be free of debt? and if not, was this really the fault of the 'lazy' people? etc etc etc there are 101 questions or constructive points you could make, but no, you come along to criticise those people who are standing up for EVERYONE, even callous, clueless bints like yourself I am only criticising attitude, this is not character assasination. Look out of your front window and the chances are you'll see some random act of anti-social behaviour, immigrants taking over the street and your local jobs market, go to Tescos and watch the armies of shoplifters. You and I might have our moans about the status quo but what the hell is that going to achieve? nada. I wont address the problems in Portugal because they're endemic in one way or another to every country in the world. We have our share of worries in the UK, and daily in Peru I see people either dying in the street or becomgin stinking rich vbecause they see the signs early. here or there it's all the same. I just want Mr Portugal to realise that screaming blue murder about policies that he, you or I can't possible ever hope to change, wont change his situation, only action will. ummm, what do you think the protest are? ACTION. Mr. Portugal is just relaying the information to us that the MSM won't. A vital job no doubt. The protests are just piss in the wind and we all know that. Burying your head in the sand and pretending that they are not there is one of the reasons why things are the way they are and will only make matters worse. No, you have it all wrong. Protests have rocked many governments and Kingdom throughout history and will help now. (Look at the French Revolution as an example). Really, bury your head in the sand?..... |
