The protests are just piss in the wind and we all know that. Ask any Egyptian if Egypt changed much post-Mubarrak. As simplistic as this advice is, it works: Look after number 1 and your family, tend to your own home like a castle and keep and fortify your family in whatever ways you can...next thing you know everyone's doing the same thing and if even your single street changes for the better, then that's something you did without the assistance of the state. Getitng yourself arrested or injured in political protests isnt going to do any good at all, especially when the bastards behind closed doors are laughing at us all. Ignore the bastards, pretend they dont exist and they suddenly become less , much less important than they need to be.

I am only criticising attitude, this is not character assasination. Look out of your front window and the chances are you'll see some random act of anti-social behaviour, immigrants taking over the street and your local jobs market, go to Tescos and watch the armies of shoplifters. You and I might have our moans about the status quo but what the hell is that going to achieve? nada. I wont address the problems in Portugal because they're endemic in one way or another to every country in the world. We have our share of worries in the UK, and daily in Peru I see people either dying in the street or becomgin stinking rich vbecause they see the signs early. here or there it's all the same. I just want Mr Portugal to realise that screaming blue murder about policies that he, you or I can't possible ever hope to change, wont change his situation, only action will.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27541002

ummm, what do you think the protest are? ACTION. Mr. Portugal is just relaying the information to us that the MSM won't. A vital job no doubt.

Bullshit.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Ephialtes (Greek: Ἐφιάλτης, Ephialtēs) was an ancient Athenian politician and an early leader of the democratic movement there. In the late 460s BC, he oversaw reforms that diminished the power of the Areopagus, a traditional bastion of conservatism, and which are considered by many modern historians to mark the beginning of the "radical democracy" for which Athens would become famous. These powers included the scrutiny and control of office holders, and the judicial functions in state trials. He introduced pay for public officeholders, reduced the property qualifications for holding a public office, and created a new definition of citizenship.[1] Ephialtes, however, would not live to participate in this new form of government for long. In 461 BC, he was assassinated, probably at the instigation of resentful oligarchs, and the political leadership of Athens passed to his deputy, Pericles.

You sound like a spoiled brat who has seen only one side of life so far if you ask me, spitting the "i make 100 quid per hour, worked there, i'm successful" in the first post, like anyone in here gives a single swimming fuck about your pay rate. WTF dude? Everyone facing problems probably gave some good thoughts about their future, their option and their life and didn't have to wait an AC on glp to tell them about it and what should sell or not don't ya think? Don't be an arrogant ignorant, it's one of the worst attitudes around.

Try to make your points in a constructive way and try not sound like a complete arse like you do, it may mean nothing to you living in your diamond castle, but lots of people are unhappy, homeless, starving, and find it difficult to make amends, things are not as easy as you describe them to be, if you say that they are then you obviously know jack shit about this world and how it operates. One of the first things i've learned in school is when i think that everyone around me is wrong and i'm right i should at least reconsider my position. This is a stepping stone to globalization.
Globalization is intended to reduce nationalism.

These dumb socialists are what's the problem with Europe.
All their woes are self created.

And they always blame someone else but themselves, so typical for socialists.

So it's funny there's people on GLP that think these socialists devils will fix things for you, they're protesting because their freebie run is about up and at the same time crying about these banks, if you were not such dumb idiots you could have solved this problem years ago, but not you had to go vote socialist and vote to steal money from the working man, socialists goes to the same hell banksters go to.

And none of these idiots will even say anything about the 50 million or so third worlders living on well fare in Europe, instead they scream about some banks?!?!?!

They really think these wellfare queens from Africa and the Middle East does not cost any money, stupid idiots!

Europe on a path to full Psychopath blow-out.

The tools of the Psychopath are in place and the trap has been set.

Carnage, Mayhem, Destruction, and Slaughter is the ONLY soloution.

Folks need to realize, not everyone is like YOU.

There are people who are BORN without a conscience, without empathy, without guilt, without sympathy.

There are people who are BORN with only Marginal conscience, empathy, guilt, and sympathy.

Some folks (Psychopaths) enjoy Carnage, Mayhem, and Destruction.

Either way, To the victors go the spoils of war and that seems to include History. I do not condone traitors!

Yep, the Greek word ephialtes used in daily life means nightmare.

Walk in my shoes for awhile my friend. You will understand what nightmares really are regardless of what language you speak.

I read about your situation Mr. D, honestly wish you the best from the bottom of my heart.hf
I'm not usually a badmouth, i don't like swearing and all, but here we are having some fellow glpers opening their hearts and stating that they face problems or complaining how they will live with 400 per month and we have immature people giving advices that i make that much in a day and you should do the same, go sell sandwiches or lick a floor. It's retarded and you have people calling you a socialist fuck on top of that, i mean where's the compassion and the solidarity for our fellow man facing problems ffs? So much division and hate spread between us, some time it ain't worth the typing in here, world is so fucked up. Bring on the EMP i say, some people don't deserve the air they breathing.
