Agree with my american friend.
Splitting EU will not only benefit the south, but actually hit the north quite hard.
The South have also THE FOOD that Europe eats.
So, add hunger to the freezing winter and you will had plenty of mad vikings.

They just can not compete (for various mostly cultural reasons) on a free market. But do not worry, no more hand-outs in the future.
