What? Are you utterly retarded? What 'drew them back into the system' is a non question. What made the violence subside was flooding the streets with police (something that was going to be impossible to sustain or expand beyond the existing trouble spots). The violence petered out but the reasons for it are still there, have got worse and affect more people. A breakdown is not going to be a clean thing. There will be riots and disorder, they will stop, they will start again, and stop, and start again.. then one time they won't stop. They will reach critical mass and have a life of their own.

I've explained again and again how, if the violence hadn't have been stamped out - by force as it was - when it was. If it had of just continued for a few more days or spread quicker so that more areas were involved, then the MET in London would not have been able to draw on the reserves from TWENTY SEVEN other British police forces. They would have failed to regain control of London. The people who weren't looting and rioting, those held up in their apartments, would have run out of food and been forced to join in looting to get essentials. The logistics would have broken down - buses had already been pulled from most places - do you think logistics companies would have kept sending in trucks to a lawless area? They would have been lining up on the M40 and M1 - outside of London. As people started to defend their own streets - as they were starting to do on the last day - violence would have spread.

Gangs and other criminals would have seized advantage and stoked the fire (just as they did in the break-up of Yugoslavia). This would have spread nationwide. Once the food and fuel supplies stopped there would be no turning back - "anarchy in the UK" (to quote the Sex Pistols) would have become a reality.

You see, in these things there are masses of people who wait to see which way the wind is blowing before they join in. It happens in all aspects of life. When they saw vital services and supplies breaking down a lot of people would have joined in.

You are right, it started as blacks just looking for an excuse to riot, but it had the potential to turn into something completely different and very nearly did. Given the growing anger amongst the young especially, and the cuts to police etc, do you seriously think that it won't happen again, and when it does, do you seriously think it will just 'die out' again?

And you don't understand what INTENSIVE is.

They can produce some food, to feed about 60 mil people/year.However, they kinda have like 150 mil people alltogheter? If they need to FEED their whole population, they need INTENSIVE agriculture which they CANNOT because their land is NOT THAT GOOD.

Architects I would believe, if someone wanted to build in Spanish style. Architects are glorified artists anyway. That's my perspective as an engineer.

The point is not that anyone is lazy, its just a different mind set. It is not possible for the Southern countries to compete with the North. But that also means that they wont have the same lkiving standard and that is where there anger comes from. You can not become rich by exporting olives and goat milk.
