Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27750536 You see, once the Euro would be history and the EU members were returning to their own currency, then German, British, American and Chinese investors would buy up your countries for pennies. That's what your new currencies will be worth, thus your country. With each strike you prove that your new currencies are worth less and less. The cheaper you could be bought up later. Here in Germany a lot of people work for 7, sometimes less than 5 Euros an hour - before taxes and baring the high German costs of living! We have to work until 67 and we only get full pension when we have worked fulltime for 40 years... which rarely is the case. A lot of us die working. We build (arguably) the best cars in the world, the best machinery, we go to work everyday, rain or shine. But if you show us you are not worth the effort, you will not be supported by us anymore, but you will be a competitor. Are you ready for this? You won't win that competition by striking and demanding more than you deserve. hihi typical german talking. arbeit macht frei! but i kinda agree with you... the thing is i dont agree with the system. |

Yeah, only the rich deserve to do nothing and get paid exorbitant amount of money so they can bank that money im ausland and don't have to pay the same taxes as everyone else. It's the same shit whether in Germany, UK, US or any other place. The poor have to work, work, work for empty peanut shells while the rich live it up. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27541002 If your bitching about earning 400 euros a month, who is forcing you to ONLY earn so little? the gov? brussels? no, YOU are The problem is that most of the jobs, even the ones that require a little bit more of knowledge, say a professional or technical course, do not pay over 1000 euros, most actually pay probably 700 euros or so, even that is not enough comparing the price range we have over here in most of the things. And with the lack of jobs there are, you either take what you get or you continue a long while with no job... Even people that get 900 euros a month or so will get cut back real bad on their salary, IRS increase next year, etc. It's not a matter of forcing people to just earn 400 euros, it's a matter of people not really having a choice... especially people that already have or are building a family. Even when we joined euro, everything doubled in price, compared to our old coin (Escudo) so 1 euro = 200 escudos, but our salaries did not accompany the price doubling, so the minimum wage back then was around 87000 escudos, and now it's 400 and something euros, which is exactly the same. The money just couldn't circulate as well, that little detail was probably what killed it over here to begin with, that and our crappy government which has political immunity and even with proof of corruption cannot be arrested. |
