ffs thats so far from the truth.
walking at night at 3am gives some people(including me) great joy,at one stage it was what i did to have me time.doesnt mean your jobless and it defintely doesnt lead to depression. For me the opposite.
If walking around at night or doing stuff at night makes you depressed-youve got other shit going on besides it being nighttime and youre probably not a nightowl at heart.

3/4 of GLPers are unemployed and they live in the daytime. Don't worry, I won't criticise you for being a depressive, closet-suicidal, jobless bum.
 Quoting: Sparrow and Medicine

you write basing things on assumptions.
a lot here arent, but you seem to feliter that out of your perceptions, and talk inclusively like everyones the same and therefore the same"assumption" fits everyone in your eyes.
pretty stupid assumptions you have on glpers and people(and me lol)

The night is beautiful no doubt about it...I used to walk at night for at least an hour as a teenager..at about 2-3 am

It will make you very depressed after a while, the whole world will seem black..I don't recommend doing it too often..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1302314

This, actually.

It shows how depressed you already are to even start doing this. It's also easy to assume you're devoid of responsibilities, have no care to grow up and accept them; i.e. you're a jobless bum.

I didn't diagnose him either, I said "might", same as you.

But, I can offer an opinion based on life experience. And, in my experience people who can't stand other people and noise are not happy, joyful and fulfilled people.

That's just a fact as i've known quite a few of these types of people and they are always really unhappy deep down inside.

Humans need other human interaction, and sunshine to thrive emotionally. That's also just a fact. No man is an island.

It's not possible for YOUR life experience to determine others. Nothing you said is a fact. You might know "Quite a few" people that are like the way you described, and if you do, I'm sorry, but many people find happiness in things you cannot understand.

I have always looked forward to the evening. I consider myself a relatively happy person. I'm certainly not "really unhappy deep down"

Some people like the forest, some like the ocean, some people like the hot, some like the cold, some like sweet, others sour....see where I'm going?

This is the problem with our world, and likely why some people "don't like many other people" - Even someone's preferences for their time of day and crowd numbers is judged when it doesn't fit the typically defined norm.

Oh, something must be wrong with him..

The opposite can be said for someone who can't stand to be alone for long periods of time...if you can't stand being alone with your own thoughts..maybe they could have a problem too? If they 'need' human interaction constantly, maybe they have a problem too?

In my experience, knowing a few very well, is much better and more healthy. Especially when you are aware of how bad off the world and our culture is. Why would anyone want to go out there and be in that mess? There's really nothing out there for you. The ol' "You're in this world, but not of it."

Yes I'm exactly like you. The night is beautiful and surreal. There are so many perks I'm surprised more people are not doing it.

You get to star-gaze / go UFO spotting

You get to go for walks having the whole neighborhood to yourself

You get fresh air with no pollutants from exhausted pipes

You don't get any unwanted phone calls

You don't get any unwelcome visitors (except burglars)

You get 100% peace and quiet

I'm sure there are many more perks I'm not thinking of...

Being nocturnal is the life!

Have to concur that just because something has been outside of your life experience doesn't mean that you necessarily have understanding of a person who may see things differently. Personally, I think those that can see that speeding somewhere just to get there 2 minutes faster and sometimes even jeopardizing others in the process are a hell of a lot smarter than your typical human.

An anthropology professor once compared our culture to an aboriginal culture in terms of free time. An aboriginal man had sometimes up to 14 hours of free time a day whereas a man within our culture always had just a few hours. The difference being is that, in order to pay for the comfortable house, the car that drove him to work every day, the toaster, the microwave, the suit on his back, and all the other "luxuries" in our culture, the man in our culture has to work to pay for all of those luxuries and spends most of his life working while the aboriginal simply just had to work to find some food every day. Whose life is better? Is one really more stable than the other?

Or another way to try to look at it is in this way. When I venture out, I feel deeply perturbed at how many signs of unhappiness and a lack of fulfillment are out there amongst the majority of people. So many people seem to try to fill the holes in their lives or psyches by buying a whole slew of things that they don't really need, forcing them to make X amount of dollars a year in jobs that also require them to stare at the back of the preceding car and feeling stressed because they're going to be late for an hour or so twice a day just to buy that crap. Or, alternatively, hopelessly piling themselves into debt. I go to a restaurant and I'll see a family or a group of friends sitting round the table, not necessarily talking and laughing amongst themselves. Instead, I'll see them sitting in silence, texting or sufing the web via their so-called "smart" phones, burning away time that could have been used for more direct human interaction. I don't see happiness at all out there and that makes me sad. I wonder how can they not see the world and life as I do where I value face to face human interaction and have so much liberty to spend my time as I see fit. I am comfortable and I am happy. No material object outside of food in my belly, clothes on my back and shelter over my head is going to provide me with as much happiness as the people in my life with whom I truly connect with.

Just because something is outside of your life experience doesn't give you the right to judge another human being for seeing things differently. Open your eyes. Life doesn't have to be shaped from a cookie cutter. It is the sorrow that I see and feel from others that drives me to be more of a night owl than a day bird.

I like to sleep at night, but it sure is nice late at night or in the daytime on holidays when some of the gosh dang car noise and such is lessened! There is too much dang noise, flashy things, loud moths, etc. and those of us who still have half a brain are justifiably irritated with being surrounded by stupidity and busyness.AND rudeness.

I agree with this. I'm perfect normal. I can't stand going out during the day anymore. Its just annoying to me. All day long in my house I hear people beeping and yelling at each other from the highway near my house. And I fucking hate it lol. I love my car and going for rides, but you can't enjoy it with all these morons on the road. When I do go out during the day some asshole gives me the middle finger every time. Like some people will pull over just to flip me the bird. I just fly by them. But I'm afraid 1 day I'm gonna fuckn snap on their ass. Is that what they want? There is just too much traffic so the littlest things will piss off people. I once heard someday say you see the weirdest people at night, nah maybe we are normal and like to live calm, peaceful lives. And not rush around all day like slaves. But this is why I hate where I live I can't go out at night cause every thing fucking closes at like 9pm except McDonalds. That is still too early, still to many people on the road where I live.

I just want to move to the middle of the woods with a huge fucking backyard. Someday.... I use to want to live in the city not anymore.
