I can totally relate, it can drive you crazy. And no, I'm not a racist, but the place I finally moved from was like that. I called it northern Tijuana. Mexican flags flying from the roofs, Mexican music loudly playing through the neighborhood - sounds like all tubas or something, late into the night with always tons of BBQ smoke and flashing DJ lights - they do love to eat and party - I could be a bit jealous sometimes. Also, went through the neighborhood that was totally all Mexican, and the place was a dive, the yards were dead and shabby, junk everywhere, a truck or van in every driveway (not an issue - just found that a bit funny), trash on the streets. It was a bit sad, but I guess to each his own. Everyone is on foot, and they all give you that hard look as you go by - I cannot stand that look - why can't they ever smile? Whatever. I got tired of neighbors that acted like I was the immigrant, so I went back to a place where people are actually NICE. Even my teen boys noticed, and they were fine where we lived before, but now they are much more content because people around them are actually neighborly, generous, considerate, personable, etc. They say Mexico is a very racist country with their laws, the US is about as liberal as you can get in comparison to Mexico. They sure as heck wouldn't let us flow south like they flow north, heck no. I am trying to learn Spanish better, as now most jobs here require it if your job has anything to do with the public or being on the phone a lot, etc. People get mad about that, but I don't mind - it just means I will finally understand what is being said on the other half of our TV and radio stations.

Dude, I'm not Italian but it's the best food if you've ever lived in an Italian neighborhood.

Italians DO make the best food hands down. I love my mother-in-law. She made me feel like family from day one, kinda like the Olive Garden commercials. LOL She's taught me a lot, prior to my marriage I just made midwest comfort foods. Now I can make gnocchi like a biatch! Not to mention my sauces, well HER sauces.

Honestly - not as much. At least they come here speaking the language, and the culture is at least similar.

Illegals can work for less because they don't pay taxes and they suck off the dole to supplement their tax free incomes from their jobs.

Many employers employee illegals, not because they are work harder or for less but because they are here illegally and as a result employers don't have to jack with all the tax bs that they do with people who are citizens or here legally. Employers discriminate against US citizens and people here legally in favor of illegal aliens. THAT is why you don't see any black landscapers or busboys or construction works and it's also the same reason you don't see any anglo people in those jobs. Blacks and anglos are here legally and employers have to file all the tax bs on them if they hire them.

I think we're all "racist" in that we all think freely and have our own opinions, just that we've been force-fed the idea that being so is incorrect, immoral, and will result in people calling you names...and so we keep it to ourselves and join the bandwagon.

The level of thought control that has been imposed on all of us is astounding, but even more astounding is how quickly we act out in Pavlovian fashion by hurling names and insults the moment someone (such as the OP) steps away from the bandwagon and says something that we've been trained to immediately treat with disdain.
