This is the North East and WE GET NOR'EASTERS. Nothing strange there. I think it was in the winter of 93' 94' that we were hit with massive Nor'easters every Wednesday through the winter, dropping feet of snow and the kids were off from school every Thursday.

Yes, it is normal to get Nor'easters in NJ. Where do you live? This must be the first time you heard of a Nor'easter...lol. Every winter, November through April, we get hit with Nor'easters. Here we call them a "blow". Nor'easters erode the beaches, sometimes cause A LITTLE FLOODING. The worst part of Nor'easters is the countless feet of snow that get gets dumped on us. Why do you think we have a thriving ski industry in the Northeast???? Bueller????? That is right...we have a thriving ski industry because we have Nor'easters like clockwork in the winter

In less than 15 months, New York City was hit by:


- The first earthquake experienced in the city in more than 60 years

- Hurricane Irene

- The Halloween Nor'easter of 2011

- Hurricane Sandy (with all the serious consequences)

- And now, two Nor'easters in the first 20 days of November


That's a LOT of voodoo against the city...


If I was a New Yorker, I would leave the city until it's 2013... I wouldn't stay one more day of 2012 in that city...

Nor'easters hit several times every year from Novembere to Feb. It's as common for us up north as it is for Florida to get a hurricane during hurricane season.

As someone from NY who has been dealing with this forever it's nothing new. Now if we get another hurricane that mixes with the nor'easter like Sandy (which has never happened before this year), that's when you can sound the alarms, doomtards.

The earthquake that shook office buildings in NYC in August 2011 was the the first quake in NYC in more than 60 years.

Hurricane Sandy was the worst storm to hit NYC in almost 40 years.

What are the probabilites of such two events happening less than 15 months apart one from another, and just months before the "end of the Mayan calendar"?

There is potential that the nor'easter could strengthen and move farther inland into New England at midweek. In this scenario, there is some potential for a wintry mix or snow over the mountains of northern New England.
