I frimly believe that all the trumpets are released DURING the tribulation period. I'm open to suggestions but I don't see how anyone could argue that even of the seals have been opened yet. A "third of the trees havn't been burn't up yet" "A third part of the sea is not blood yet" and we havn't had any comet fragments ruin any part of earth yet. I don't think the judgements neccesarily come in order either because IMHO th 5th trumpet has alrady sounded and yes the 6th trumpet with the four horsemen killing 1/4 of mankind (most likely world war 3) is very near.
Hopefully we are raptured before the real chaos begins.

When Jesus came the first time, many - especially his followers - were expecting the things they knew from OT, but everything Jesus said was Spiritual in nature. They didn't understand it as it was happening, and didn't know what to make of it, either, until he died - AND THEY SAW IT - and then it all made sense when He rose again. However, His RESURRECTION and ASCENSION into heaven was a LITERAL event, and they ALL SAW IT, and then believed in all the other "spiritual" events. My opinion (similar to yours) is that many of the events we read in Revelation is spiritual, therefore, "those who do not have ears to hear, or eyes to see" don't understand what is going on. That said, JESUS WILL RETURN LITERALLY, as He Ascended literally....He said He would!
