Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the Tel Aviv regime is ready for fresh attacks on the Gaza Strip in case of, what he called, an Egypt-brokered ceasefire’s failure to hold.

“I know there are citizens that expect a harsher stand in Gaza - and we are prepared to make one. We choose when to act, against who to act and how to act,” he was quoted as saying on Thursday.

Netanyahu said Tel Aviv was “giving the ceasefire a chance.”

IDF fires warning shots to deter Gaza rioters

IDF sources said that since the early morning hours on Friday several riots took place near the Gaza border fence in the southern part of the Strip. The IDF fired warning shots into the air in the attempt to disperse the crowds.

Earlier Friday Palestinians reported that one Palestinian was killed and nine were wounded from IDF fire at the location. (Yoav Zitun)

Palestine should just chill. They are getting UN recognition so that would help their aim. If they kick off now, Zion will finish em good and proper. They could also play the victim on this incident.

I agree. I'm actually surprised the ceasefire has lasted as long as it has.

Ceasefire is good, there won't be a resumption based on this incident. However, any repeat incidents, will increase pressure big time. I'd say we're safe for a few weeks, probably until the election. After that, I can see it resuming on a level not seen yet. Plus you have Iran looming.

Hamas: Israeli troops open fire, kill 1 Palestinian and wound 3

A truce between Israel and Hamas appeared to hold Friday despite reports that Israeli troops opened fire in a buffer zone with Gaza, killing at least one Palestinian and wounding three, according to Hamas security officials and an eyewitness.

The shooting occurred east of Khan Younis, a border city in Gaza, when protesters approached the 300-meter "no man's land" -- a security buffer between Israel and Gaza, according to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Israel Defense Forces did not immediately confirm the report, telling CNN it was looking into it.

Well Hamas has already stated it considers these events as violations of ceasefire. However I read they're going to complain to Cairo about it. But it's only a matter of time when the rockets get flying though.

Mashaal: Conflict paves way for independence war
