OR, maybe....just maybe....Netanyahu being somewhat smarter than your average internet fanboy safely banging away at his keyboard in his mom's basement......realized that, at this time, a Gaza Ground-Invasion would be really, REALLY STUPID.

What with Iranian centrigues and Mahmoud Abbas plans to go to the UN in about a week's time... not to mention Mohammad Morsi having some constitutional, um, disagreement with Judiciary, Legislature & SCAF... and all.


But, hey, maybe Netanyahu is just a stupid "pussy" -- evidently as per the consensus of Internet Chiefs-of-General Staff.

Israel vows to destroy Iranian rockets destined for Gaza


ISRAELI spy satellites have spotted a cargo vessel at the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas being loaded with rockets and other weapons that analysts say may be bound for Gaza via the Red Sea, Sudan and Egypt.

“Regardless of the ceasefire agreement, we will attack and destroy any shipment of arms to Gaza once we have spotted it,” said an Israeli defense source.

They may have ceased fire but Israel will not stop protecting itself. I thought what Bibi did was fine. He didn't really roll over. They accomplish much during the last 6 days. They just arrested more threats to their country. Israel is doing what they need to do. I am sure Bibi got something from Clinton. He may be getting weapons, planes or who knows for agreeing to cease fire.

Why don't we have any Israelis on here?

If this cargo ship is Iranian and Bibi attacks/destroys it. Might this be what he needs in order to get to the head of the snake?

Israel took out persia's missile factory in sudan and persia did nothing but cry about it.

They wont start firing rockets out of rage...they will try to use it after the UN bid to pursue that war crimes bs. Obviously that would look ridiculous to all but Muslims and activists. Hamas is guily of war crimes galore....but they are aware of the bias at the UN and will exploit it. We migbt see Netanyahu blow his top at that point.

They know where the ship is, they can track its every move, I think they'll wait until it's in international waters and then those rockets on board will go for swim !

Perhaps they will try just disabling the ship with a torpedo detonated at a certain distance or something, that way the ship will be stuck at sea and forced to seek help...and when help arrives they will discover the rockets on board !

As I've said earlier, the IDF has to sink that ship cos if ballistic missiles like the Shahab-3 are going to reach Sudan...that's really bad news for Israel !

Israel is already surrounded by enemies, and if Sudan gets those ballistic missiles it can really do some serious damage ! That ship needs to swim with the fishes very soon !

Can someone tell me ( please forgive my ignorance ) but under what Law does Israel have the right to attack this ship?
If countries with Warships etc can freely move around with weapons onboard why is this ship not allowed to?

(serious question...not trying to take the piss or anything...just dont understand why Iran is not allowed to transport weapons to an ally of theirs..?)

Tania, with all do respect, you are a Palestinian supporter, you have made that perfectly clear on many occasions, so please stop trying to act impartial !

Israel is a sovereign nation and has a right to defend itself like any other nation on Earth!

Let's say for a second that New Zealand was at war with Australia and Kiwi intelligence got word that a big transport of ballistic missiles are en route to Australia with the aim of being fired at NZ at some point in the future !

Wouldn't you want your country to take preemptive action to stop that ship from ever delivering those rockets to the Aussies !?

It's the same think with Israel, it has the right to prevent weapons from reaching Gaza or Sudan because those weapons are going to be fired at Israeli cities in the near future !

Hamas wanted a cease fire so it can catch its breath, resupply from Iran and start the cycle all over again...Israel has the right to stop Hamas (a terrorist organization) from resupplying its weapon stash !

Anything to protect !

Jerusalem is considered a holy city in many religions so it must be protected so that ship must be sunk to protect it .

Just to clarify my position...Religious Extremism and everything it stands for is very frightening.No matter what the religion. I dont like war full stop...and I certainly dont side with Hamas or Islam. But I do think that there is SIGNIFICANTLY less options for the Gazan children to be protected, than the Israeli Children and as a Mother this strikes a chord deep in my heart. I side with Palestines children being able to experience freedom from the current prison they are in ( and it is a prison not just in the physical sense but also a religious prison for them as well. ) Many many MANY people do not want to be there but cannot leave. The same cannot be said for the Israeli people who can freely come and go. I realise they are also suffering from the stress of rocket fire...I do not agree with this either and do not wish missiles to all on Israel at all. I believe religion is the root of this issue...and not just Islam/Muslim Extremism. The Jewish faith is just as dangerous.

Yes I would want something to be done to help prevent those rockets being fired on my country...but I would on the other hand want a Kiwi ship to make it to New Zealand with a supply that was destined for our defence. Do you see what that really means? If those weapons were bound for Israel to be fired on Gaza you would be cheering for it to get thru...and be livid if the Palestines Allies decided to illegally sink the ship...

That is why I asked the question impartially cause I want to know how this stands in line with international Law...can ISrael LEGALLY destroy the ship?

Which flag does the ship sail under ? Surely its nation isn't going to be very happy if it was sunk and lives lost , creating yet more tension....

If it was , im sure they'd be damn unhappy if something happened to it .....

Or they could use another countries vessel as cover , is there a sea blockade stopping shipping into Gaza ,or like been said before , sneak to ship into egypt. This would mean the Israelis would have to check every ship into Gaza / Egypt ..which they are not going to do ...

More fuel to the fire I think either way...ship blown up = DOOM, missiles enter gaza = DOOM..
