Egypt stocks down another 4%, with yesterday biggest drop since Arab Spring
 Quoting: Luisport

Why do I get the feeling that Egypt is going to fall apart and take the cease fire with it?

damned
 Quoting: Éireann

Think about what a 13% drop - 9% yesterday and 4% more today ---in Egyptian stock market represents.

Literally BILLIONS of dollars lost by their economy. Remember all this drama over whether or not Obama/EU will approve a 4.5 billion dollar loan or whatever..... Now Egypt lost TWICE that in just 2 days in the stock market.

Their tourism is only going to get worse. The brain & investment drain will accelerate. Mind you, Mubarak's plutocrats already took a ton of gold & treasure out of the country as the revolution commenced in early 2011.

Egypt also doesn't get Israel's money for gas because of the blown pipeline. In fact, Israeli and American energy companies have an 8 billion dollar LAWSUIT waiting in the wings for Egypt's violation of the gas contract in question. I think Israel only held off on filing it because they wanted to give Peace with Egypt a chace -- likely at the strong urging of Obama & EU.

Maybe now average Egyptians will see the RUIN that Muslim Brotherhood has brought upon the country in only 6 months of official rule.

Then again, the people who STARTED the revolution -- secular liberals -- are dumbasses who are allergic to learning. Just like Liberal Idealists collapsed the Monarchy and brought hard-core Communists in power in the Russian Revolution in 1917. Just like Liberal-Idealists collapsed the Shah in Iran -- and brought the psychotic Apocalyptic Twelver Ayatollahs.

Same with Egypt, it seems. LOL totalitarian forces -- whether Communists, Fascist or Islamists -- are nothing if not OPPORTUNISTIC. Kinda like viruses or bacteria only attacking the weakened immune system. Same with Muslim Brotherhood.

Can someone tell me ( please forgive my ignorance ) but under what Law does Israel have the right to attack this ship?
If countries with Warships etc can freely move around with weapons onboard why is this ship not allowed to?

(serious question...not trying to take the piss or anything...just dont understand why Iran is not allowed to transport weapons to an ally..?)
 Quoting: taniatarn

Tania, with all do respect, you are a Palestinian supporter, you have made that perfectly clear on many occasions, so please stop trying to act impartial !

Israel is a sovereign nation and has a right to defend itself like any other nation on Earth!

Let's say for a second that New Zealand was at war with Australia and Kiwi intelligence got word that a big transport of ballistic missiles are en route to Australia with the aim of being fired at NZ at some point in the future !

Wouldn't you want your country to take preemptive action to stop that ship from ever delivering those rockets to the Aussies !?

It's the same think with Israel, it has the right to prevent weapons from reaching Gaza or Sudan because those weapons are going to be fired at Israeli cities in the near future !

Hamas wanted a cease fire so it can catch its breath, resupply from Iran and start the cycle all over again...Israel has the right to stop Hamas (a terrorist organization) from resupplying its weapon stash !
 Quoting: subzero86

Just to clarify my position...Religious Extremism and everything it stands for is very frightening. No matter what the religion. I dont like war full stop...and I certainly dont side with Hamas or Islam. But I do think that there is SIGNIFICANTLY less options for the Gazan children to be protected, than the Israeli Children and as a Mother this strikes a chord deep in my heart. I side with Palestines children being able to experience freedom from the current prison they are in ( and it is a prison not just in the physical sense but also a religious prison for them as well. ) Many many MANY people do not want to be there but cannot leave. The same cannot be said for the Israeli people who can freely come and go. I realise they are also suffering from the stress of rocket fire...I do not agree with this either and do not wish missiles to all on Israel at all. I believe religion is the root of this issue...and not just Islam/Muslim Extremism. The Jewish faith is just as dangerous.

Yes I would want something to be done to help prevent those rockets being fired on my country...but I would on the other hand want a Kiwi ship to make it to New Zealand with a supply that was destined for our defence. Do you see what that really means? If those weapons were bound for Israel to be fired on Gaza you would be cheering for it to get thru...and be livid if the Palestines Allies decided to illegally sink the ship...

That is why I asked the question impartially cause I want to know how this stands in line with international Law...can ISrael LEGALLY destroy the ship?

Iranian warships returning to Sudan: military
Monday, 26 November 2012

Iranian warships will return to Sudan on Friday, the armed forces said, one month after a similar port call followed Khartoum's accusation that Israel bombed a military factory.

Sudan's links to Iran have come under scrutiny after Khartoum accused Israel of the October 23 strike against the Yarmouk compound, which led to speculation that Iranian weapons were stored or manufactured at the factory in Khartoum.

"Two Iranian warships would also visit Port Sudan harbor on November 30 and would stay at the harbor for three days within the military maritime cooperation," said Sawarmi Khaled Saad, Sudan's army spokesman quoted by the official SUNA news agency.

I don't think she is a Jihadist, perhaps just a mother who was very touched by the images of dying children in Gaza after the Israeli airstrikes !

And I get that and respect that but the only reason you haven't seen dying screaming children in Israel is because of Hamas' poorly made rockets and the IDF's Iron Dome system...because God knows Hamas tried its best to kill Israeli CIVILIANS !

That is the big difference, the children who die in Gaza are collateral damage because Hamas fires rockets from the rooftops of their schools and kindergartens...any child who dies in Israel would die because he was deliberately targeted by Hamas ! That is a huge difference !

Here's some shit about why Turkey's involved. They want to sell concrete.

By mid-2011, prices for Turkish cement (Gazans snub Egypt’s lower-quality products) had fallen from almost $1,000 per ton at the height of the closures in mid-2008 to $250 in June 2010.

For the Israeli politic followers - What is your take on these guys? From what I understand a couple of them are from the more hawkish side of Likud.

RT @haaretzcom: Initial results of #Likud primaries show top five are Gideon Sa'ar, Gilad Erdan, Silvan Shalom, Yisrael Katz and Danny Danon

Egypt's president Mohammed Morsi has insisted he would not be another dictator as he tried to calm violent opposition to a decree that grants him absolute powers.

He also unilaterally cancelled legal challenges to the committee drawing up a new constitution as well as to the upper house of parliament, both of which are dominated by his Muslim Brotherhood backers.

With no lower house of parliament until the new constitution is formed, this decree gave him stronger powers than those of his overthrown predecessor, Hosni Mubarak.

Opponents fear that there will be clashes on Tuesday when the Muslim Brotherhood organises a counter-rally to support the president against the Tahrir Square protesters. Some even fear the military, which have taken a back seat since Mr Morsi became president in June, may use the confrontation as a excuse to step back in.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Arafat body to be exhumed in murder inquiry

The body of late president Yasser Arafat will be exhumed on Tuesday in an investigation to establish if he was murdered, a Palestinian official said.

The Palestinians have "evidence which suggests Arafat was assassinated by Israelis," Tirawi added. Israel denies any involvement.

The exhumation and renewed allegations of Israeli involvement could stir further tension between the Palestinians and Israel, which are observing a truce after a week of fierce fighting in Gaza.

And who's doing the exhumation? Who's doing the "investigation"?

Regardless of whether Arafat was poisoned or not, or who may have initiated, orchestrated, and completed the tasking, it is not difficult to realize that a conclusion has already been reached.

I'm not saying he wasn't marked for removal, but he could have eaten rancid roast of Unicorn served by Santa Clause while in Little Bo Peep's parlor, and Israel would still be automatically accused as the actor.

Ok. How about some fun facts on Polonium? See, it's like following the money.

Neutron capture
Synthesis by (n,γ) reaction
In 1934 an experiment showed that when natural 209Bi is bombarded with neutrons, 210Bi is created, which then decays to 210Po via β decay. The final purification is done pyrochemically followed by liquid-liquid extraction techniques.[44] Polonium may now be made in milligram amounts in this procedure which uses high neutron fluxes found in nuclear reactors.[43] Only about 100 grams are produced each year, practically all of it in Russia, making polonium exceedingly rare.[45][46]
 Quoting:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

All righty then! Russia hates Israel. Why would Israel go to Russia to get the Polonium? What could the two possibly give each other? But wait... if not Israel, then who? hmm Large global organization with lots of money and power and ties to Russia? Why, that would be the Muslim Brotherhood.

huffy

I honestly think we can seperate country from countrymen these days. Legitimately we can say Avigdor Lieberman displays vengeful/double agent potentials.

Lieberman was born on 5 June 1958 in Kishinev, Soviet Union (now Chişinău, Moldova). His father had served in the Red Army and spent seven years in a Siberian Gulag under Joseph Stalin's rule, where he met Evet's mother.[citation needed] After high school, Lieberman applied to study international law at Kiev University, but was, according to an interview, rejected for being Jewish.

Iran's navy fleet to dock at Sudan's coast: commander

TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian Navy's 23rd fleet will dock at Sudan's coast in the coming days, Press TV reported Wednesday, quoting a senior Navy official.

The Navy's deputy commander for operations, Rear Admiral Seyyed Mahmoud Mousavi, said that the fleet is composed of the Jamaran destroyer and the logistical vessel of Bushehr, according to the report.

Such a visit will send the message of peace and friendship to the friendly countries, Mousavi said.

"The mission is also in line with the announcement of the preparedness of our country's navy for performance of mission in the international waters as well as the establishment of security in the region and connecting routes," he noted.
