just tuned into the stream - these look like light armaments. Perhaps they're saving the big guns for some predicted event, possibly Syrian/Egyptian counter offensives.

How will Syria do anything? They've been butt raped by themselves and their nation is terribly politically polarized, they don't have the national unity to prosecute a war I don't think...Egypt....well they've got American weapons and vehicles, so, I can see this getting extremely bloody if Egypt goes in.

Did anyone see what looked like the formation of jets on the Reuters stream a few minutes ago? Looked like they flew over the town or something..

I may be wrong, my understanding of the history of this region is a bit poor, but I was of the opinion that Syria was involved in the largest tank battle in history with Egypt and Syria versus Israel.

Admittedly things may be very different today though, care to fill me in?

One must remember how many years ago that was, how much has changed in the ME region, how much hate has grown, and certainly not forget how much the US has fostered the implementation of different governments in the region, while at the same time being perceived by the world powers as consistently growing weaker over the past four (4) years.

Do not begin making the mistake to discount this going sideways, or even completely upside down in a nano-second.
