Wow. Iron Shield actually makes more sense, but it's called Iron Dome lol.

I didn't see, I just heard some explosions and thought they were shells.

update- in the past 5 minutes israel was attacked 5 times in 4 different places.

news says "some" rockets were stopped by the iron dome.
no actual hits reported.

RT's feed showed them going off, Reuters showed them shot down. No sign of retaliatory fire as of yet.

so if this "2nd in command" from Egypt comes tomorrow to show solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, is Israel supposed to pull it's punches?

Is Egypt guy assuming they will hold off so as not to kill him and antagonize Egypt into attacking them? Or will the Gazans, in their lust for war, make sure Egypt guy gets killed in order to facilitate more killing and blame it on Israel?

Btw, there is MORE ways than one to help the glorious "Little Nation-State That Could"... than just to serve in the regular combat unit in IDF.

It's just as important to use whatever talents you have. So for instance, if you're a brilliant hacker, IDF can really use you.

If you are a natural-born inventor, I am sure Israel could always use the next Iron Dome.

If you are a wunderkind polyglot with the gift O' gab... then Israel is especially in need of the next Abba Eban -- lord knows, in recent years Israel has been less-than-stellar in diplomacy PR & Information War.

Hell, Israel could use brilliant entertainers & artists to build up culture and build bridges with other (Western) nations...

Gaza Offensive: Israel Will Stop Assault During Egyptian Prime Minister's Visit

Israel will stop its offensive action in the Gaza Strip during a three-hour visit by the Egyptian prime minister to the territory on Friday, a senior Israeli government official said.

Egypt's Prime Minister Hisham Kandil prepared to visit the Gaza Strip in an unprecedented display of solidarity with Hamas militants embroiled in a new escalation of conflict with Israel.

"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to an Egyptian request to cease all offensive operations in Gaza during the visit of the Egyptian prime minister there this morning, which is supposed to last for about three hours," the official said.

"In the answer that has been forwarded to Egyptians, we've said that the Israel Defense Forces will cease fire on the condition that there won't be fire from Gaza into Israel during that period," the official said.
