| Anonymous Coward User ID: 21651525 11/16/2012 01:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think it's safe to say everyone in this thread - for now - is pro Israel? Quoting: ~Proud Zionist~ No side here Me, either. I don't believe God is in the real estate business. Just sayin'. you are wrong my friend... Thus said the LORD of hosts . . . he who touches you touches the apple of his eye" (Zechariah 2:8). The Chosen Nation Was Moses being too starry-eyed, too close to the Israelites to see things in perspective, when he spoke of them as the "chosen people"? The answer is a resounding "No". Over 1,000 years later, even after that same rebellious spirit had driven them into captivity in Babylon, Zechariah the prophet could still write to the people of Judah: "Thus said the LORD of hosts . . . he who touches you touches the apple of his eye" (Zechariah 2:8). There is nothing we treasure more than our eyesight; to touch the eyeball causes instant pain and a violent reaction. This is how God felt when nations had oppressed the people He loved. 500 years later still, after the Jews had killed God's Son and rejected the Gospel, the Apostle Paul asks, "Has God rejected His people?" He replies, emphatically, "By no means". "They are beloved," he declares, "for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable" (Romans 11:1,28,29). Like the father of the prodigal son in Jesus' parable, God's love for His people has never changed, even though they have often made Him sad. The idea that God has a special relationship with the nation of Israel does not go down well today [link to www.christadelphia.org] |

Just pointing that out. Any news on Egypt? There was a thread that said Egypt was sending troops to the border, but no link (meaning no credible information). I haven't seen anything, other than mass protests here, in the news, and that the President will go to Gaza tomorrow. good point about karma! hadnt thought of that :) i believe "tomorrow" is friday local time, right? israeli press had an article about recinforcements citing arab media. [link to translate.google.com] i now see it's egyptian PM hisham kandil who's on his way to gaza Prime Minister today (Friday), after afternoon prayers, and the President tomorrow (Saturday). do you have a source for Morsi's visit? It's buried in this thread somewhere. I'm not Arab and I'm not Muslim, I just live here. Oh, and I'm not a guy. :) |
