BUT, as I tried to warn people yesterday, Gaza is THE most dangerous place in earth right now for any Western army, no matter how powerful --- and they are especially psyched for Jews from the IDF. Gaza has a TON of very sophisticated & deadly weaponry that can kill any tank or down any plane, any jet. Does "Kornet" or "Igla-S" ring any bell? Even older versions like RPG-7 or Strela are fatal at close ranges, and Gaza has them in 1,000's literally -- again, imagine how that super-densely constructed place is an ideal Terrorist paradise. Not so much for regular Palestinian civilian, but since when has Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PRR or al-Qaeda ever cared about average Palestinian...? Hell, some are still surprised how Fajr-5 rockets most of which IAF destroyed in the opening hours.... can still reach Tel Aviv or Jerusalem -- for the first time in 20 and 40 years, respectively! This is what happens when Left-wing oriented Western policies in Israel have allowed of total NEGLECT of Gaza and South Lebanon for years. Even Castlead was stopped way short, which allowed HAMAS to regroup and upgraded their asrsenals with Iran's help. In fact, Gaza IS glorified Iranian terror base in every sense of the word. Even the underground C & C and communications capabilities of Hamas are truly world-class. Billion dollars worth of "donated" Iranian and Russian equipment. Bottomline: if Israel can conduct a successful operation with relatively low casualties (under 100), it would be a small miracle of innovative tactics. |
