1) Israel and the West have neglected Islam(ic terrorism) for years and years. And the blow-back was 9/11, which cause US to overreact with Iraq... all while neglecting the real threats: Iran and Pakistan. In Israel 2 decades of Leftist rule, Labor and Kadima, likewise led to suicical policies, disengagement, surrender -----> and NOW as Fajr-5 is slamming close to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, complacent, apathetic peoiple have started to wake up.

So everything the leaders do OR don't -- has far-reaching consequences. It matters a GREAT deal how this incredibly difficult (Gaza terror hub is superbly armed and fighting in their territory without uniforms on, hiding behind human shields, under hospitals, etc) operation goes.

Because Hezbollah and Iran are watching and orchestrating the Gazan terror groups. That would be the ultimate challenge.

And of course Pali's will cry about "Zionist eating babies by the hundreds" -- but that only means that Israel's PR & information war department would have to perform far better than it has historically.
