Today, the President spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Morsi about the rocket attacks being launched from Gaza into Israel, and the escalating violence in Gaza.



The President reiterated to Prime Minister Netanyahu the United States’ support for Israel’s right to self-defense in light of the barrage of rocket attacks being launched from Gaza against Israeli civilians. The President urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to make every effort to avoid civilian casualties. The two agreed that Hamas needs to stop its attacks on Israel to allow the situation to de-escalate. The two leaders agreed to stay in close touch in the coming days. Earlier today, Vice President Biden received a briefing from Prime Minister Netanyahu on the events in Gaza.



The President also spoke with President Morsi given Egypt’s central role in preserving regional security. In their conversation, President Obama condemned the rocket fire from Gaza into Israel and reiterated Israel’s right to self-defense. The two leaders agreed on the importance of working to de-escalate the situation as quickly as possible and agreed to stay in close touch in the days ahead.

You want the truth? Netanyahu is actually quite pragmatic & moderate. He was one of the first politcians in Likud to agree to a 2-State Soluition. The man is not even that religious, he has respect for Judaism and Zionist Idealism, but by no means is he someone who can be called a "fanatic" --- if anything, many Right-wingers in Israel have long accused him of being Liberal and too cooperative with the wishes of US/EU lefties.

And for being called a dumbass solider... Netanyahu has a reported IQ of 160. The guy helped Israel break decades-long shackles imposed on it by its Socialist Monopolies...and put a country on a Capitalist, free-market Western way of doing things. That's how Israel's economy was able to not just survive but thrive during the Great Recession -- despite not having the massive oil wealth that Saudi Arabi or Qatar have, for example.

I mean, I can see how the people who HATE Israel with a passion, and who want to see it destroyed... would also hate Netanyahu. It's only natural.

But if you're someone who has any shred of humanity and impartiality left, talk to someone who actually KNOWS the real deal with both Israeli politics and the Middle East.

They'll tell you that Netanyahu is the real deal. The man would sign real, lasting Peace agreement tomorrow. Unfortunately, Palestinians don't want peace. Never did. They used to say in English to the gullible Liberal bleeding-hearts that they want peace, while in Arabic they would cry with joy "Death to Jews".

Now Palestinians don't even try to hide their REAL plans even in English. Even their future flag at the UN has an ENTIRE outline of Israel on it -- meaning that Palestinians want it all and will kill the Jews the first chance they get.
