well german news are very optimistic that there will be a truce and i start to believe this is over now, hamas really reduced the attacks today, i don't think they have many resources anymore

my prediction: there will be a ceasefire in the next 24 hours, israel will not invade gaza

Accept a cease-fire and Israel's government accepts defeat. Hamas would then declare victory, immediately rebuild with aid from Israel's "friends", and of course rearm with ever more powerful and dangerous weapons. Israel shouldn't allow its enemies to choose the timing and pace of their wars; Israel must now seize this moment to destroy Hamas or next time Hamas will prove more deadly, backed by Egypt and aiding Iran in the next war.

There were those here that swore they had inside information about how this would spiral into a huge war.

Some of us knew better than to listen to that crap.

Israel does these operations on a regular basis. They do them when they need to clean the house up a bit. They do them when they get tired of the rockets.

They last a few days to a few weeks.

Cease fire arrives when Hamas has run low on rockets and a few of their leaders are killed.

This operation will be NO different. It won't last that much longer.

It is possible Israel will have to move into Gaza and clean house a bit more. This is not a big deal. Invade? lol Hardly call it invade. It is Gaza.

Egypt isn't going to help Hamas. Iran isn't coming to the rescue. Syria isn't coming to the rescue. There will be no wider war from this event.

It is possible that Israel is cleaning house a bit in preparations for a short war with Iran. That is the unknown. In the event they need to do some surgical strikes in Iran then they need the southern border cleaned up a bit.

The war with Iran will be short and sweet. It will not escalate into WWIII. It will be a bigger deal than this. It won't be the end of the world.

Too much money involved to allow things to get out of control. Russia and China stand to make a mint off all of this. They know it. They will verbally state they condemn the actions of Israel. Meanwhile they will cash their checks!!!! Follow the money.

Hot air and bluster is all the U.N. and the Arab League have for Gaza. They couldn't care less about the people of Gaza. They are pawns in the hands of their masters.

Another dog and pony show for Israel. Right before the election, as well. Showing a strong hand. Dealing with the weakest threat. They have accomplished their goal.

Now it is a matter of tying up some loose ends. Cease fire will come soon enough. May take a bit more arm twisting. A few more bombs. Perhaps some limited ground fights to weed out a few more terrorists. Not a big deal.

Everyone has been focused on the right hand. They have not been watching the left hand. This operation is a distraction. But from what?
