The motivation is to cause families such extreme pain, that they leave Israel, or pressure their government to capitulate to Hamas' demands. They want mothers weeping and children dying for pure emotional pain in the heart of Israelis. They HOPE to kill the most precious. And they did. Now they're in a world of hurt much different than 2004. Edit: People like to use the phrase "karma's a bitch" when referring to what they hope will happen to Israel, but in practical terms, Karma is exactly why Gaza is a smoldering shithouse.
