Al Jazeera's Peter Greste reports from Cairo on the latest in the diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasfire in Egypt were Arab leaders and western leaders are meeting.

Greste says the signs of an ceasefire agreement are promising, even though this cannot be confirmed as yet. He says that there is much incentive from both sides to see the conflict end.

Just remember people that when you have to turn up the volume to listen to the gaza feed to turn it down when you watch a youtube video or you scare the shit out of yourself like I just have.

If Nrtanuahu is not going into Gaza, it's because:

1) The benefits do NOT justify the huge risks & economic costs associated with a month-long war/occupation. If Bibi believes Hamas has no chemical WMD or significant stockspiles of Fajr-5 type weapons... if he believes Iranin Command & Control and spy bunkers have all been taken out from the air..... then what should he go into Hell-on-earth like Gaza?

2) He doesn't want to be distracted from Iran (and Hezbollah) which will be a far bigger fight.

3) Obama & EU have expressely forbidden the operation, threatening to withhold the UNSC Veto if Bibi disobeys.

So the invasion just got postponed another 24 hours.

On Sunday, November 18th the Kerem Shalom and Erez crossings were open for humanitarian aid to Gaza




A total of 80 truckloads of medical equipment and food were transferred into Gaza. The crossings were opened in spite of the security threat facing the staff assigned to man the crossings.

The goods transferred via Kerem Shalom included 16 truckloads of medical equipment, such as medicines, anesthetics and disposable medical equipment, and 64 truckloads of food. Crucial components of CT scanners passed through the border and were delivered to the Beit Shifa Hospital.
