So you see...Hamas CANNOT disarm first (and tbh, who will disarm them - UN or Israel?) because they are afraid to do that.Blockade cannot be lifted first, because Hamas will get MORE rockets and arms thru egyptian Sinai...Egypt is under MB control. so...NO CEASE FIRE whatsoever.  Non starter. The blockade already has too many leaks, Israel would need to control the Gaza/Sinai crossings. So why would Hamas give up something they already have? And esp their arms? Not likely.. And this is WHY there can't be a cease fire...Israel must secure 10-15 miles in Sinai adiacent to the Strip. Egyptians also KNOW that... And Egypt is out of the picture, and can do little. That's the difference from the old status quo. I dont think Israel can control that border when they have antagonists on both sides -- Gaza and Sinai. |

Little scheme: 1) 19.00 GMT (less than 2 hours): "eventual" Ceasfire declaration by Egyptian PM. 2) At this point, no ceasfire is agreed, israeli source confirms. 3) The ceasfire starts at midnight (about 5 hours). 4) IDF dropped leaflits where they URGING PEOPLE TO EVACUATE FROM GAZA. IF the ceasfire will be agree, we have to watch very close the hours near and after midnight. IF the ceasfire won't be agree, Israel starts ground operation. Just sayn'. |
