| Anonymous Coward User ID: 27800002 11/21/2012 07:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Iran has sent military aid to the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza that has been locked in a week-long war with Israel, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday. "We are proud to defend the people of Palestine and Hamas... and that our assistance to them has been both financial and military," he said without elaborating, in remarks reported by parliament's website, ICANA.ir. The Jewish state has accused Iran of supplying Hamas with the Iranian-made Fajr 5 missile, used to target Tel Aviv since an Israeli offensive on Gaza was launched on November 14. Iran's Revolutionary Guards chief General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Wednesday that Tehran was only responsible for having shared the missile's "technology." The Fajr 5 missiles launched at Tel Aviv "have not been delivered from Iran, but their technology has," Jafari said, adding that the missiles were being "rapidly produced" in Gaza. The targets included the Ministry of Internal Security - which served as one of the main command and control centers for the Hamas terror organization - as well as an important police compound and a military hideout used as both a meeting place for senior operatives and a communications center. Additionally, Israeli Navy soldiers targeted a rocket launching site, a Hamas post, and a structure used for Hamas' terror activity. In a joint IDF-ISA mission, the IDF targeted, in a pinpoint strike, a Hamas intelligence operations center, which was deliberately located in a media building in the Gaza Strip. In addition, IAF aircraft targeted a senior Hamas operative in the aerial defense operations, several terrorist squads, and a terrorist who was identified at the launching site from which a rocket was fired towards Jerusalem yesterday. 4:53 a.m.: Since midnight today (Wednesday, November 21), the Iron Dome Active Defense System has intercepted two rockets fired from Gaza toward populated areas in Israel. 12:33 a.m.: A short while ago, the IDF targeted a Hamas intelligence operations center on the seventh floor of a media building in Gaza. A direct hit was confirmed. Furthermore, the IDF targeted approximately 50 underground rocket launchers, terror tunnels, three weapons storage facilities, and a weapons manufacturing site. The IDF also targeted a system of tunnels used to transport fuel to Hamas, as Hamas had used the transported fuel to support its terror activities. [link to iaf.co.il] DoorBert.....help me. | Cons User ID: 28196357 11/21/2012 07:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anyone have a clue what the percentage of people in Palestine who are opposed to hamas is???? Quoting: Angelic_Warrior These are stats from 2006 where Palestine hold Free elections: Final results show that Hamas won the election, with 74 seats to the ruling-Fatah's 45, providing Hamas with the majority of the 132 available seats and the ability to form a majority government on their own. Of the Electoral Lists, Hamas received 44.45% and Fatah 41.43%[1] and of the Electoral Districts, Hamas party candidates received 41.73% and Fatah party candidates received 36.96%. [link to en.wikipedia.org] Now, stats might have changed since 2006 we do not know exactly but what we know for sure is that Hamas won the elections and were not allowed to rule. That's one of the reason they "forcefully" took over Gaza strip. Its politics and long story. You have plenty of info on the net if you interested on that subject. |
