Do you see Hamas giving a crap about the civilians in their territories? No...they call them "martyrs", and when they aren't busy working hand-in-hand with the AP to doctor photos to create scenes of carnage that do not exist (see Operation Cast Lead photo scam perpetrated by the AP news service). Hamas is VERY well funded, and they could build bomb shelters if they wanted to...however, they prefer to be the SOURCE of the terror, and do not care how many of the people around them die. Even Jesus said that: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" [link to bible.cc] Therefore, the Old Law is still valid, and even if Jesus supposedly opened up a way around it, God didn't revoke anything. He's still the same old sado-narcissistic SOB as in the early days. Slavery, stoning of people, slaughtering enemy tribes and other atrocities are still ok and part of the Law. The only thing that changed is that you can break the Law and still be saved - as long you believe in Jesus. In fact, you can still follow the Law and, even though you can't fulfill it, you will still be saved by your faith in Jesus. So, if a Christian feels a divinely inspired hatred of gays, prostitutes or witches, he can still go and murder them and still be saved by Jesus. The attempt to obey the Law would probably even earn you a few bonus points. |
