That is why he won't back down, because HAMAS won't stop firing, they have had half their leadership liquidated, and their weapons caches destroyed, they will fire until they can all become martyrs. Quoting: ~Proud Zionist~ Yes he will. The writing is on the wall. The same pattern of international condemnation is occuring. The next step is media coverage of protests IN Israel. With Egypt's new attitude supported by Obama, Netanyahu is going to slink out in an effort to save face. The saving face part will include some concession which will anger the right in Israel. Same old thing. Netanyahu is going to really damage Israel with this game he is playing. |

There is no other option. If more Israelis die, and he does nothing, Israel will turn into Syria. They know this, and they won't let that happen. It's not up to him, his position is reactionary, this is why he won't back down, he doesn't have that luxury. His meetings to discuss cease-fires are there to please the West and have them feel that Israel isn't completely off the chain. What? |

As of these latest events, people tend to remember 2008 as similar situation. I think 1973 on steroids is more likely to happen. Absolutely NO SOLUTION will come out of this. This is a road to nowhere. |

Some are saying possible cease fire and others are saying ground invasion happening soon. Quoting: Dapurps Learn from history. When you see patterns being repeated, you already know what the outcome will be. Israel was given 48 hours to go in and take Hamas on. They sat on their hands and did jack shit. Now the world is saying OK, we can't ignore this anymore for you, you have to stop and go home now. And....Israel will. No ground invasion, nothing. If you ever wonder why it takes 2-4 days before the condemnations start, it's because Israel actually had the green light from the rest of the world, including the Muslims if you can wrap you head around that one! Proof is in the pudding. The world gave Israel a critical period of time to go in and settle the score, and they failed to take the hint. Brutal, fatal mistake by Netanyahu and any true supporter of Israel should be very disappointed in him. |

Quoting: Dapurps They have been saying invasion/ceasefire for the past 36 hours...... THIS is the Genius of Israel. They are keeping Hamas on their toes. THIS is exactly what Alexander the Great did at the battle of the Indus. The Indians kept thinking he was on the way to attack, then he wouldn't, then he would move again, then it was a feign, for 4 months this dragged on, until they actually did attack, the Indians were caught off guard because they never expected Alexander to attack, because of how much mis-information there was and the illusion of maneuvering. What? |

Im not even going to try and predict what will happen because the situation is too volatile to predict and we aren't privy to the intelligence info these governments are. I am wondering though what exactly Israel has accomplished if she stops now. We've seen this pattern a million times before. |

Israel knows if they back down this time then its over for them. They can't keep tolerating constant attacks. They need to finish this for once, otherwise it'll be a constant back and forth like it's been for years until Iran can finally attack.
