One look at the military assets and the logistical issues gave Russia and China pause. They can talk smack all they want, but to even get into the fight would take full mobilization. Their navies can't intervene. A land route would be a war all it's own, Russian/Chinese attack aircraft are out of range. Look at all the allied resources in the region. What does Russia have? A wore out old naval base.
