I just cannot believe Morsi is going to be able and keep Hamas in control and take care of his situation in Egypt; especially since Iran is watching and meddling.

Ground invasion order was canceled twice at the last minute

On Monday night (Tues morning US time) Nachal soldiers received orders to move towards Gaza, opened the border gates, but at the last moment the action was delayed. (Thanks Hilary)

In fact at least twice the IDF was about to enter Gaza, the units received their orders, and then the order changed.

Yep, I read that earlier, early on in this thread that someone felt Obama was changing his support more favorably towards Israel. I didn't comment on the time, but did not buy into it at all. I don't trust him or the Clinton(s).

Bus bombing changed everything, and Hamas still claims they have captured a pilot...Bibi did not want to lose elections because of dead Israelis in TelAviv...so he made truce...until after elections...then DOOM!

Three possibilities:

1) The Israeli government is infiltrated by US interests aligned with the Muslim brotherhood who want to create the illusion of peace with Egypt, leading to the end of Israel as we know it and the greater caliphate in the Middle East. Israel is a testing ground for Iron Dome for US interests.

2) Bibi feels safe with the right but not with the left, so a ceasefire strengthens him politically, and a ground war is delayed until after the Israeli elections. Still seems risky with 70% of Israelis against a ceasefire and less than two months until elections.

3) It's only a matter of time before Iran/Hezbollah intervenes, and perhaps Israeli intelligence knows this, and prefers not to get entrapped in Gaza and instead keep its eyes facing north. Perhaps it accomplished enough technically at this stage.

Oh yeah I'm sure this will bring peace ! Hamas just needs a break to rearm and resupply and the fireworks will start all over again !

Giving Hamas this opportunity is a grave mistake, even if a ground invasion will be ordered in the future when Hamas starts firing again...it won't have the same effect as it would of had now and more IDF soldiers will become casualties.

Hamas was in disarray, its top leaders killed, its arsenal crippled, it was the perfect time to strike a decisive blow, now they will regroup and resupply and when Israel actually decides to do in, it will be twice as hard to flush them out...all this thanks to Hussein !

That what ship to Gaza was about (remember Mavi Marmara?) so BiBi must be either REALLY smart or REALLY scared...because like it or not Hamas got what it wanted...

4-5 killed Hamas leaders is nothing for them as they have hundreds of leaders that can replace....

That's what makes no sense at all and means there is a LOT we do not know.. why would an operation that Israel initiated lead to ceasefire terms she has never come close to accepting in the past? Sure glad there are no signatures anywhere on this "agreement".

Sounds like three sound, plausible possibilities.

You have short term memory Sub. Isreal started all this by killing someone who had plans for peace. Why would Hamas start trouble again when Hamas knows that Egypt would be held accountable for it to Isreal?

True, but this peace lull will shut Hillary/Obama up once it fells.....however, what will it cost them in battlefield position or flushing them out(?)....is a fair question/concern.
