What could of possible convinced BiBi to do this, knowing full well it's political suicide for him and also that is just a matter of time before Israel will be under rocket fire again ! Three possibilities: 1) The Israeli government is infiltrated by US interests aligned with the Muslim brotherhood who want to create the illusion of peace with Egypt, leading to the end of Israel as we know it and the greater caliphate in the Middle East. Israel is a testing ground for Iron Dome for US interests. 2) Bibi feels safe with the right but not with the left, so a ceasefire strengthens him politically, and a ground war is delayed until after the Israeli elections. Still seems risky with 70% of Israelis against a ceasefire and less than two months until elections. 3) It's only a matter of time before Iran/Hezbollah intervenes, and perhaps Israeli intelligence knows this, and prefers not to get entrapped in Gaza and instead keep its eyes facing north. Perhaps it accomplished enough technically at this stage. I'd go with number one! |

Why would an operation started by Israel with the upper hand, taking out a Hamas leader by surprise, end in giving in to an untouchable Israeli condition?
