How does a terestrial cable breaking spell space doom? Is this some inaccessible uber special cable that no one can replace or repair? "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. So a cable breaks and they lose contact with nearly all their civilian satellites and the space station?.... Dont mean to be a bit doom-tardy or a sensationalist but I find it hard to believe that something so important as access to virtually their entire satellite network and their space station has a weak point like A SINGLE CABLE that all comm's are routed through, that if broken brings the lot down. I mean surely for something so important there's backups... and backups to the backups? Now I'm fairly sure that if it was some muffa-fukka of all cosmic events or similar then it wouldn't just be Russia's satellites that would have gone down, the whole sha'bang would be dark by now, but their excuse still don't wash with me. |

Russia loses contact with satellites, space station - RIA Quoting: Luisport Published: Wednesday, 14 Nov 2012 | 9:15 AM ET Text Size MOSCOW - Russia has lost contact with most of its civilian satellites as well as the Russian part of the International Space Station after a communications cable broke in Moscow, state-run RIA news agency reported on Wednesday, citing an unnamed source. RIA cited the source as saying it would take at least 48 hours to fix the cable. [link to www.cnbc.com] Well, shouldn't like ESA and NASA also be in contact with the ISS? What about them? The heavens declare the glory of the bomb. And the firmament showeth His handiwork. His sound is gone out unto all lands. And his light unto the ends of the world. Glory be to the bomb and the Holy Fallout - As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be; world without end. Amen. |
