Re: If You Can Think It Does It Exist Somewhere In The Universe?
I believe so, but in the multiverse, not universe. Voltaire believed that this was the best of all possible realities. Since he was a much better thinker than I, I tend to agree. If it is true, then there must be other realities. I think each happening that can go one way, or another, creates both. Both exist simultaneously until perceived by one reality, or the other. Then the quantum system collapses and only one exists.... and doesn't.

Mind-bending shit.

Interesting thought...but not necessarily. Right now I am thinking about cow giving birth to a baby cow, and the baby cow is made entirely out of pillows that were made in the 1980s....without genetic engineering. Almost positive that doesnt exist anywhere.

In movie magic it could. Not exactly sure what the plot of such a movie would be. But definitely B grade.

Re: If You Can Think It Does It Exist Somewhere In The Universe?
Supposedly we are always changing into alternate realties subtly depending on our current perception of things. As our perception changes, so does our reality(into another hemisphere within the same dimension). We are always changing realities based on our current thoughts. Therefore, our thoughts change the universe around us.

Because it is on a subtly level, we do not notice. But if we have a complete change in our perception consciously and subconsciously at once, then BAM! You will notice the sudden change in reality.

how clearly can you visualize that?

What I'm getting at is that each idea, in order to exist, must have a certain level of compossibility (I forget where I get that term, but it was a discussion just like this.... with people way smarter than me.). In order for the pillow-calf to exist, certain other things must also be true. This is the idea of compossibility.

The idea originally used to demonstrate this was ice existing in the middle of a sun. For it to be true, certain other things must be also. As we imagine what those things might be, the original idea becomes more compossible. For instance, maybe a race of alien scientists designs a rocket. The rocket has shields allowing it to carry the ice to the middle of the sun. When a certain temperature is reached, the shields burn away and, for a number of moments, ice exists in the center of a sun.

Obviously, this is not possible with our reality, but becomes more and more possible the more we reason it out. All this ties into the Platonic hypostasis and other high level philosophical shit I can barely understand, let alone express.

Another way to think of this is when you suddenly get the solution to a problem. Often, we struggle with a problem, the solution will dangle in front of us, just out of reach. Then we almost get it.....then it is gone. After a certain amount of time, usually some sleep too, the solution will suddenly arrive, whole and complete. No struggle, just the light bulb effect. It has been postulated that this is the moment that a critical mass of other "yous" in other realities, with similar compossiblities, understand the idea. Once they do, their thinking and comprehension makes it more and more compossible for you to understand the solution as well.

Talking about this stuff always makes me feel about as articulate as Frankie, so I hope I got the idea across.

Oh yeah, pillow cows. Well, that's just not compossible.....but maybe if we think about it for a while.

Another example of my premise.

Incidentally, I think I got it from Neal Stephenson's "Anathem."

No, not necessarily. Granted the things we think of are typically composites of things we have seen in the physical world, but it needn't be the case. Your question is interesting though. It's sort of like when Plato's Rule of the Forms meets the Fallacy of Composition.

Your subconscious does not agree with your conscious thought. Nor do you consciously believe it to be true anyway. Therefor it would not manifest in any way shape or form through this dimensional state we reside in at this time.

Also the question would be, how "high" our consciousness is.
If something exists it must be imaginable - if we can imagine something it exists somewhere (our mind for example) - If we start from this point of view, my opinion is that everything we can imagine exists somewhere (maybe some "imaginary plane") but we're not able to imagine everything that exists yet, but with consciousness, our potential raises.

Good point, good point. Eating Oreos would be real drag, without milk. Plus we'd have to start butchering cows for cotton, instead of meat.

I have one for sale on E-Bay damnit! Actually good point, buy I do believe if we can think or dream up anything, for the most part it can be done. Of course we have to work within the physics provided.

If something exists, conversely, there would be realities where it does not exist. This means it exists and does not exist at the same time.. like the cat, yes. Our perception is only in one reality or the other. This is why we cannot perceive both.

I always wondered if it all could be made to just go away. Not compounding or various realities or lack thereof.

But everything gone permanently regardless of realities.

Re: If You Can Think It Does It Exist Somewhere In The Universe?
thought as a muster (choice for others)
a muster (a helping construction)

i picked up many values from our reality and tried to impose them between each other to see, which is the leading one

it is the evaluation process we all represent,
it is the most important one (brains as comparing machines)

perhaps thats the reason we are here in such numbers
that we represent something important
/ or /
we are just walking meat (and you know thats bullshits)

Well I know direct connects to things like weather exist. How else would it rain when you wanted it too and not rain when you didn't?
