Yes that is a very disturbing thing I noticed there too. Considering many are waiting eagerly to see how he'll address these secession petitions, if at all, it would be spin-possible for them to come out and say, he's going to look at the petitions, then a week passes, then he says, I looked at them all and overwhelmingly the gun control increases please one is the one that's most important, therefore the masses will have their increased gun control and then we'll go on from there after that's taken care of.

They pass a lame new UN approved gun ban, criminalize ownership, attempt and get some percentage of them confiscated and maybe like 2 or 3 handed in, and then they say, okay, now lets revisit those petitions on secession.
