I moved to Canada in 2002, after Bush won, I bought real estate there, I even got permanent residency because I don't believe in being an illegal immigrant

However, I had no idea how much Canadians dislike Americans...they can barely contain it for even a brief conversation...not even with an american who likes you guys and moved there for what you would see as the "right" reasons

I am an Ivy league grad and so is my husband. We lived in New England, worked on Wall Street, have serious high tech skills and a small business bringing in $$$

...you'd think my spouse and I would be the kind you would like...socially liberal, self sufficient, entrepeneurial

However, after nearly 10 years in your country, I sold my little farm and moved to Texas

I got tired of the snarky little insults, the lack of jobs for even highly qualified foreign landed immigrants, the non stop "we're superior to Americans" attitude

Seriously, I meet Canadians all the time down here in Dallas and when I had a house in Florida....and they *never* get the welcome from Americans that you guys give to Americans

The worst you can say about us is that some Americans don't know Canadian geography or history...as if that is so awful. At least they're nice and they don't badmouth you behind your back the way I experienced

With all that said, I still like Canadians...but when you start a thread with a title "why are Americans so dumb", it just makes it seem like you have some unresolved issue with an ex American girlfriend or some other personal issue

Our entertainment has devolved into pure retardation

Teachers unions and govt control our schools, and are systematically dumbing us down and conditioning us to be obedient slaves.

The brainwashing has literally made 50% of our nations population zealous and absolutely fucking insane, incapable of critical thinking.

We sell Canadians as pets to the Chinese here in California.

and spot on observation about the fluoride and lithium in our water supplies, add some aspartame (breaks down into formaldehyde, and loads of aluminum)

Communists infiltrated the schools and the government and brainwashed now over 50% to vote for communism...all the while they have them convinced they are enlightened and smart...the smart ones didn't fall for it and we are a minority now...

I think the OP asked a very good question, I live in the US and ask myself that question on a daily basis. My top 5 answers, in no particular order..

1. Flouride, soda, and fast food diets. Do I need to detail why?

2. Public education is completely controlled by the Thugs in Charge. It's simply repetition and requires no critical thinking skills. Only a decent memory.

3. Way, way, way too much time in front of the television. The TV ad men could care less about entertaining or enlightening you. Their job is to sell product. Period. And don't even get me started on "The News".

4. An exaggerated sense of entitlement. Americans have been brainwashed into believing that they are Gods gift to the planet. Hard work no longer required- after all, we are the Greatest Country in the World.

5. Never ending propaganda, lies, and misdirection. The US consumers (no longer citizens) are putty in the hands of the massive, out of control, intelligence agencies. They are THE masters at keeping information of any significance far away from public scrutiny.

Ok, so, lemme give you a little "history" background why Canadians don't like Americans...

Canadians are the spawn of the weak, chicken shit losers who ran off North instead of fighting during the war. Thus Canada is mostly a nation of cowards and chicken shits that ran away instead of standing their ground and fight.

So, most Canadians are the descendants of these coward bitches, therefore their DNA is loaded with cowardness n chicken shitness.

Like penis envy, this explains why they are haters as they wish they were brave and strong as the brothers and cousins of their ancestors that didn't run away from the fight a couple hundred years ago.

Hey, I have always wished Canada well. Before I actually moved there, I always assumed they were our best friends

To be fair, I did meet a few people who thought the US was their brother.....people usually in the military or the oil patch

I was shocked, however, at the people who looked at me...a landed immigrant, and insulted me thoroughly to my face...not just my country (and after the Iraq war, I was not a fan of US foreign policy, so I could agree with their criticism) but no, not just my country, but me personally.

It's as if they hated American people...not just our government, as if we are responsible for the goons and idiots in our capital any more than they are for Harper or any other NWO puppet

It surprised me that they were filled with venom towards me, a guest in their country, someone who had moved there and gone to the trouble to gain permanent residency, so obviously someone who liked Canada. Its as if it was pent up and they had to take it out on someone, so if you were the unfortunate American who went there you bore the brunt of the poison they had been saving up...

After it happened the 10th time, I stopped counting, and I started questioning what I was doing by staying there

I always tell people here, nothing turned me into a libertarian and a Texan resident more than my 10 years living in Canada

But that said, I don't judge all Canadians by those impolite and ungracious people I met over my decade. I know there are good people in all places, and I know there are many people with high ideals and good hearts in Canada

....and I hope that if the shit truly hit the fan, Canadians would be on our side, not the Chinese or Russians

but from the way some of them spoke...if I weren't so full of faith in human nature, I would have serious doubts they wouldn't join the enemy forces in bombing us if they could
