It sounds like you are trying to make him fully remember, and therefor break him free to 'realize' his potential.

He has to come to this realization free of conscious influence, that is why there must not be any direct confrontation, must not be anyone telling him he is the one. He has to figure it out himself.

It will end up breaking him at the same time it opens him. He would be experiencing be yet another 'rebirth', one of many in this lifetime, though it would be the grand finale for him.

But, why do you/they want him to realize his higher power?

To shuffle in the new world. To destroy boundaries. It will be accompanied by 'revelations'. Technological ones, spiritual ones, our past. That we are not alone. He will...

Oh, I have it now. He is to be - for lack of a better word - The ambassador. That's it. It is not just about us, it is about the entirety of the human experience, including the other side, and including our 'Watchers', our Caretakers, everything about being human.

He is going to be the singularity tying it all together.
