Craigslist paypal scam for a 10,000 car
Hi everyone, I'm hoping you can help me with this one. I got a guy who wants to buy my car but will only use paypal. I can't figure out the scam. I know it's a scam but once the money is in my paypal account it's mine, isn't it?

No, not at all. It's a common scam. They create a dispute after the funds are in your account and they already have the car. 99% of the time they win the dispute, and of course be away with the car as well. Would not advise doing it.

Seems pretty risky on their part. But, I guess if they win and I lose the car.... or what is left of it...

That's pretty tough, man. I used to think that with Paypal, the transaction's going to be secured and there's now way I'm gonna be scammed. Luckily(unfortunately, on his case), some dude here at our place have been a victim of this scam at craigslist too.

Check this out man: [link to www.scamoncraigslist.com]

This helped me smell a scam from miles away. Sold a few cars since then.

Paypal shouldn't be used for anything over $100 or if you're OK with losing your item to thieves.

I just got contacted from the same scam about a car on craigslist...What they do is say they need 900 for the agent to pick up the car but the will gladly pay you a extra 100 for the inconvience...Prob is his money isnt real and your 900 is.

I actually had this happen when I recently sold a show vehicle. I fucked with the scammer so hard it took everything I had not to bust up laughing when talking to them... after a while they realized I was scamming the scammer, and I never heard from them again...

Re: Craigslist paypal scam for a 10,000 car
Here is what I received from an interested customer for my car and wanting to pay with paypal. Seller beware!! I love how she ends with "God Bless" as if she believes in a God! What a hypocrite.

Hello,

I have just completed the Payment and i am sure you have received the confirmation from my PayPal regarding the Payment, you can check your my PayPal e-mail your inbox or junk/spam folder for the payment confirmation message. The total payment which was sent is $3,000, $2,000 for the merchandise and the extra $900 for my shipper's fee and $100 for the Money Gram charges, which you will be sending to the address below via Money Gram:

Agent information:

Name: Christina Harding

City: Lake

State: Ohio

Zip code: 43008

Country: USA

Kindly go to post office or walmart and get the $900 sent to my shipper via Money Gram money transfer and get back to PayPal with the Money Gram receipt for verification once you get this done your account will be credited...

My shipper would be coming around to your area to have the vehicle picked up once you have sent the shipping charges fee to them,as i need you to let me know what time you want them to come for the pickup of the vehicle.

I will be waiting to hear from you once the money has been sent to my shipper.

Thanks for the business.

Regards.

God Bless.
