I TRY to understand

I try to understand.........

How can we have such diverse viewpoints in this country?

I remember always having a slightly different take on things. I have gone through phases of being angry at the way things work, but normally I accept life just as it comes and let it pass through me. There are those that have a compassionate tilt on the way they act and then there are those that try to separate their actions from their innate desires on the aspects of living life.

If we as a society consider the drive of humans to achieve the things we dream of then we must start here to See how things begin.

The act of visualizing how we want things to be pushes many of us into the actions we manifest in our lives. Others are hopelessly lost living

in their dreams rather than living out their dreams. Of couse external influence have a tremendous effect on what we allow ourselves to do.

We have a difficult time disconnecting from our emotional responses in order to pursue a rational course, but then isn't that we consider humanism to be all about?

Just as the tides and storms change the shoreline so it is with our societies since humans first existed. I say humans perhaps because this attribute, at least to me seems to be what really separates us from the other creatures of the Earth.

Few among us have even a seed of desire to understand how we become what we are as a person, society or civilization.

I am caught up in the concern for not only losing a way of life I grew up with, but with our very saftey as I see what so many of you see. The path we are on is complex in many ways, but I believe will lead inextricably towards a world we will definately NOT like.

So many here have witty one liners that belie our true position. How will we transition to a world shift that may take everything you've dreamed of or worked for........ In stride or with great and violent anger?

I go round and round trying to imagine the best way to prepare. A house out away in a rural setting...... Check
An emergency food supply....... Check. Weapons to defend my self....... Check. Solar collectors and generator for power...... Check. Etc, Etc

However in the true realization of the situation..... Since I cannot know how things will transpire I am left with only one recourse.

Live each and everyday with a sense of wonder at the human condition and know that the creator has a purpose and a plan.

I realize that the vast majority of people here don't care for my ramblings, but this is sometimes my only outlet for expressing my views in a way that suites me.
