Israel is laying the groundwork for the Iran bombing run.
If they simply bombed Iran, all hell would break loose on the Gaza-strip. Now they're taking out Hamas' pre-prepared rocket and mortar positions and later on they'll put some boots on the ground to further suppress Hamas.

Remember, Israel's wars are usually fought with American's kids....so until you see that forming up, might as well relax.
