Kids are getting dumbing and dumbing these days. I work in a school system and I can honestly say it is true.

We need to go back to a time when parents (a mom and a dad) actually took responsibility for their children and did not rely on the government for everything. Kids see this and think it is a way of life!

Your hypothesis that "Americans are stupid" has nothing to do with Obama. What you suggest, has been a trend for quite some time, and is not unique to supporters of one political party.

To have a truly free society, two things are necessary: 1) A free and independent press, and 2) An informed populace. Both are lacking in America.

What we're seeing is the result of what happens when you're born into the greatest nation ever to have been established (mostly due to the fact that our incredibly wise and foresighted Founders created checks on the power of our federal government and established guarantees for our Liberties), but you don't partake in the responsibilities contained therein. In a democracy, when the citizenry gets lax (not actively participating,or informing themselves, or not holding their elected public servants to account), that translates into tyranny of the elites. In a democracy (including a democratic Republic such as ours), apathy of the people equates directly to tyranny of the elite.
