You think that because people have stopped bothering to correct that insanely incorrect theories the denialists pose that means you are winning.

There is no way to win here however.

One more time for the people that might actually still bother thinking on the topic:

1997 was a very warm year. A massive El Nino came and several other factors ramped up the heat.

Between then and now are most of the other warmest years on record, slowly making an upward trend over that time.

2012 will likely be warmer (slightly) than any of them.

Now this means there IS a sawhorse effect, if you draw a straight line between the two hot points.

What you need to be looking at is the over all effect. The "ramp" underneath them. If that was flat, it would mean no warming. if it get's high near the present (it does) that means the trend is getting warmer.

There is no "pause" in the trend, just an illusion, like a thing that a stage magician would try to pull on you.

Don't let the science language fool you, it's getting warmer as time goes on.

Now, there is more too it, but since the denial crowd can't be bothered to read that much, I'll close on this little tidbit.
