Um, I live at the Jersey Shore, and maybe you should learn more about out area before spouting off.

Do you have any idea how many restaurants, marinas, and various mom and pop small businesses were completely destroyed by Sandy?! Not to mention how many businesses were damaged and will take a while before they can reopen.

This is the most densely populated part of the country.

It's so sickening watching the spin job(s) of the Obama administration. We have been well and truly hijacked.

I've told all my friends and family to get out of the stock market NOW and put their money into physically-held precious metals.

Unfortunately, we are going to look back on these troubled times as "The Good Old Days".

Do you think that those lost jobs have had a chance to make it into the reports already? I don't know a lot about the Bureau of Labor but I'm pretty sure they have to collect that data from all the states. I'm not denying the impact of Sandy, I'm just wondering if the job losses caused by Sandy are really reflected in this report. If not, the NEXT report may be even more stunning than this one.

Don't forget how many Obama saved...lol

That I do not know, but I would guess it's an estimate. But once the dust settles and the losses become clearer, I do expect the next report to be "stunning." It is really, really bad here - apparently worse than many realize.

Well, that makes sense, as most of the newly unemployed are definitely missing more than one pay period of work, and therefore would be counted as officially unemployed.

And when the economy crashes, they will blame the massive increase in unemployment on the...economic crash.

You can also factor in the thousands of "clean up" and aftermath jobs in the trades that have been created...I've been through major hurricanes...there is always a boom of that sort of work after one...

I seriously doubt that there has been enough time to factor in much of either of those numbers, the negatives and positives from the storm.

The BLS has been full of shit for months, if not longer, but especially full of it lately.

Besides...hasn't the Obama laser focused team's fast and agressive most awesomest response pretty much handled all the downsides yet?...That's what I heard anyway.

I guarantee that the Obama administration will blame the "failed policies of the Bush administration".....

He will say that he did all he could but that the GOP policies that were in effect for 8 years were so horrible that in spite of everything he did to rectify the situation.....in the end it was just to much to overcome
