Instead of owning their poor choices, they blamed someone or thing other than themselves. We do that today. |

This was a part of the repercussions of her actions |

This was a part of the repercussions of her actions What I'm talking about is the fact that women are always blamed for whatever is wrong with the world; just look at some of the many threads here doing exactly that. Women had to fight just to get the right to vote, own property, get access to their deceased husband's checking account, sign contracts, and generally be treated as adults. The world was always badly run before then, but this doesn't stop the misogynists from blaming "women's lib" for the breakdown of society. That's some serious, pervasive, continual blaming going on. As for the man ruling over the woman, God did not order it but only said that would be the result if she chose to follow Adam out of the garden. Otherwise, it would have to mean that God rewarded Adam for being spineless and punished Eve for being beguiled by the serpent. (Not going to chase this rabbit trail any farther here though; I can give links to my extended studies on this if anyone is interested.) Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? It cancels the out-of-the-blue red I just got a short while ago. (thx also to Lisa for "out of the blue" green.) Anonymous Coward User ID: 15368494 United States 11/15/2012 10:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes there is lots of blame in the Bible because no one wants to own up to their own responsibilty. God TOLD Adam NOT to eat from the TREE OF LIFE long before Eve ever came on the scene. SHE WAS NOT BANNED FROM EATING FROM THE TREE ONLY ADAM. And of course Adam blamed it on Eve knowing that God told him long before not to do what he did. When will men ever own the responsibility for their own lives. They are here to protect women and to be the provider for their families. THAT IS THEIR JOB. The man Adam received the harshest punishment and the earth was also damned because of his disobedience. This is not a game and the consequences of each of our actions has a very long significance. Our actions create who and what we are. |

Hosea 13:16 "Samaria shall bear her guilt, because she has rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword; their little ones shall be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women ripped open." Don't worry, i'm sure it was taken out of context. We were meant to live for so much more, have we lost ourselves? |
