Iran wraps up 4th Intl. Robotics Competition

350 teams and 12 divisions. In the final day of the fourth international robotics competition at Tehran’s Amir Kabir University of Technology, the winners grabbed trophies for their rescue robots, flying robots, humanoids, submarine robots and de-miners.


At the closing ceremony, the organizers said this year’s competition showcased how much the Iranian and international teams have grown over the years. The participants also agreed that the level of engineering that went into the robots and the quality of the competition exceeded their expectations, and made for a very exciting game.

The international robotics competition is a scientific initiative with the goal to advance the state of the art of intelligent robots in Iran. It seeks to motivate young people to learn skills and knowledge necessary in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as to foster their soft skills through participating in the creative process of building and programming robots.
