Message Subject Most American men under 40 will be drafted for the coming war

There has been standing legislation to re-instate the draft since conscription was halted.

I'm ready to serve my country in whatever capacity is needed. I have have mixed feelings about conscription but I generally support the idea. I have an advanced degree in physics, so I will be able to choose my mission, but if there is a major war and its necessary I will be joining right up. I will probably do what my grandfather did, in that he got a degree in physics and then went straight into the navy in '36 because he knew shit was going down and he knew the navy needed people like that. I feel this way now, I don't agree with the military or everything our country does, but I have a sneaking suspicion they're going to need all the help they can get.

Hmmm just keep telling your self this what inpatient facility is letting you have internet time?

Inpatient facility is a perfect description, I work at a university lab, all major universities are basically mental institutions/nut-houses, esp the physics departments. At least have my own incandescent light bulb to work under. For some reason I just cant do math or problem solving very well under fluorescent lights. And they do give us a pretty fat internet tube, could be allot worse.

Advanced physics degree gonna let you choose your mission?

Here's your mission son: forward artillery trajectory specialist. All that physics will come in handy for selecting the proper trajectory for the artillery AT THE FRONT LINE...

where you'll be sleeping in a trench and eating out of, shitting in and washing up in your helmet.

Choose your mission?...HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

That's funny, I have consulted on private-sector projects related to radar systems that aim artillery shells, so I have done at least some of my part there.

Have you ever been to a military base? Or even talked to military officer? I have a wide variety of skills not only related to physics, that have already put me over the regular guys. While in college I have been able to participate in some aspects of military training, including teaching ROTC courses related to navigation, etc. I personally have friends who were able to pretty much choose and build their military carers after either advanced science degrees or undergrad in fields of engineering. My understanding is that the pentagon is desperate for smart educated people. Remember the navy runs on nuclear reactors, and you need at least some physics to operate one. With my education I could become a reactor operator in a matter of days or weeks, something your average idiot could simply not do. do you really think they want people like that in the mud?

Let me clarify my statement by saying that if there is a draft for which I am eligible, by choice would be to enter the navy's OCS. I have more then adequate credentials to do so, and may end up there anyway, and yeah they will let me choose my mission and job. Also I'm not your son.
