When I read this: Rockets fired at Tel Aviv area for first time in over 20 years, I wonder the difference between the two. Is it politically correct to call them rockets these days instead of when Saddam launched missiles in the gulf war? |

In a modern military, a missile is a self-propelled guided weapon system An ordinary English-language usage predating guided weapons is simply any thrown object, such as items thrown at players by rowdy spectators at a sporting event. A rocket is a missile, spacecraft, aircraft or other vehicle that obtains thrust from a rocket engine. Source: wikipedia. |
