Not taking sides, but maybe Palestinians are firing rockets in protest at their concentration camp conditions?

The Palestinian Authority is trying, through the UN to be granted the right to call itself a nation; this status will confer certain inalienable rights, which could help all in the region to live together in conditions more suitable for human beings.

There is resistance to this from predictable quarters.

Avaaz is hosting a petition, to be addressed to the UN leadership:

"To European leaders and all UN member states:
We urge you to endorse the legitimate bid for recognition of the state of Palestine and the reaffirmation of the rights of the Palestinian people. It is time to turn the tide on decades of failed peace talks, end the occupation and move towards peace based on two states."
