Oddly there is fast food fillers of soy in every fast food restaurant .. go into the hood and there is a fast food restaurant on every corner .. and 10 year old girls walking around looking like women .. Hmmmmm .. wonder why? .. Soy is no good .. I do love edamames though :) Holy shit, is that why 8 year old girls in Peru were growing breasts back in the eighties? Seeing as it is their cheapest form of protein in their diet .. I would assume that would be a yes .. On top of the fact they were pretty vegetarian centuries ago .. and started depending on soy (fillers) more recently! Dr. Mercola - "Soy formula is one of the worst foods that you could feed your child. Not only does it have profoundly adverse hormonal effects as discussed above, but it also has over 1000% more aluminum than conventional milk based formulas. It is becoming increasingly common for young children, even 5- and 6-year-olds, to go through precocious puberty (aka early sexual development). The introduction of this report even states that studies have found girls as young as 2 years old entering puberty! This is clearly a multi-faceted problem, but I believe one of its main causes stems from your environmental exposure to a whole slew of endocrine-disrupting chemicals. Even the conservative US government has recognized that soy formula is a potent endocrine disruptor ... I'm thinking of going on a spiritual journey to Australia and it would be also easier to get the raw food I need for the diet. Here's a song from Stic Man's great motivational hip-hop album " Workout ". He's a vegan and practices martial arts. Listen to the lyrics and i suggest you download the album if you like hip-hop and healthy living. ;) [youtube] [link to www.youtube.com] Also you could check out user : thedurianking on youtube for great info on this stuff. | ~Spaze*Man~ User ID: 27866311 11/16/2012 12:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've cut my animal protein consumption at least 50% in the last 10 years and am in noticeably better condition than when eating average levels of meat. I now consider myself vegetarian as I get most of my protein from eggs, dairy and fish, with small amounts of red meat occasionally. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27738226 I suppose it's the fact meat makes the blood acidic, which has to be buffered by critical minerals robbed from various organs and muscles. It also requires much "energy" to digest which has to be diverted from other critical body functions. I don't go full vegan because I do believe in balance, but do credit the move away from heavy meat consumption for much improved overall health, while noticing other people my age falling prey to various ills. That is not vegetarian. But this is exactly what I have been reading lately. many hours reading about health. You are very close to the main points here. Constant meat barrage is bad for the body. I do love meats. Unfortunately gonna have to cut out allot of them. |

While I do think eating a good variety of fruits and veggies is important - meat is as well. When I was pregnant with my 2nd son I became anemic and my doctor said I needed to eat more red meats. I did, and it got better very quickly. Protein is important too, and yes it can be found in other foods, but meat is a good source. And, health stuff aside - you're going to be hard-pressed to find too many people who would give up meat, me included. While I still am not the biggest fan of red meats, I love chicken, and ham.
